Great location close to beach. This area SL low key not all built up, quieter! The great breezes make it kite surfers paradise, and the breezes make the huge covered porch a nice place to hang out.. The family that manages very helpful, content & beautiful. They make good food, and help arrange local needs. The first night I stayed in budget room, but then upgraded for 2 nights to the larger cabana because it has better cross ventilation & surfaces to put things on. Both size rooms have your own porch with cushioned seating. Neither rooms have a/c but you don't need it with the good breezes & room fans.

Nestled between the river and the sea—less than 100 meters apart—the place is a true haven of peace, surrounded by stunning nature. The nearby village offers an authentic glimpse of local life: fishermen, unpaved streets, children’s dance classes, a small church… And just 2 km away, the bird sanctuary is a true gem for nature lovers. Starting at 6 a.m., the sky comes alive with the graceful flight of beautiful birds—an unforgettable sight. The chalets are well spaced out, offering total privacy. The meals, both Sri Lankan and European-inspired, are delicious and lovingly prepared by Andrew’s attentive team. The staff are incredibly caring, and the fellow guests we met were warm and inspiring, adding even more magic to the stay. A true hidden gem, a timeless escape. Without hesitation: 10/10.

Nirvaan Safari Lodge bevindt zich in Wilpattu met uitzicht op het meer en heeft een restaurant, roomservice, bar, tuin, terras en barbecue. Super vriendelijke mensen. Tegen zonsondergang een wandeling met een bioloog gemaakt. Wij hadden helaas ergens anders onze safari geboekt maar ik zou iedereen aanraden om het via de lodge te doen.

TEMBO Cottage Wilpattu is gelegen in Wilpattu en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is, gratis WiFi, een tuin en een restaurant. Er is een ontbijt beschikbaar. Spotless, beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The rooms were so luxurious and great value for money, the pool area was lovely as well. safaris with great guides - seen everything including young leopards and more other animals.

MKS is a fantastic spot to learn how to kitesurf from scratch. It has all elements required, good wind, good equipment, shallow warm waters and best of all, an amazing team of great kitesurfers who hosted us with love! The concept of morning Yoga was also super relaxing.
