From the moment we arrived, we absolutely loved our stay here. Fred, the owner, built this Ecolodge himself with a clear mission: to be 100% sustainable. Every aspect of the property reflects that goal—everything is green, circular, and thoughtfully designed. The lodge is impressively clean, well-maintained, and full of character. The rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and each comes with its own private bathroom. We stayed in the Double Room, which was very comfortable and equipped with a fan—perfect for keeping cool at night. All the essentials are available on-site, including kayak and snorkeling gear rentals, which made exploring the area super convenient. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Sook Peng, Fred’s wife, is not only an incredible cook but also a truly warm and welcoming person. Sharing meals with her was a joy, and her cooking made every meal memorable. There are also cozy hammocks for relaxing, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind. We couldn't recommend this place more highly—it's a rare gem built with heart and purpose. The beach is really right infront of the homestay and we can see the beach from the veranda of the homestay. In the morning, we practically have the beach to ourselves. During the night, we experienced a few blackouts. I think this is not the owner's fault. However, the owner provided us with portable solar lamp for our use in the house, which helped a lot. We really enjoyed our stay at this homestay and hoped we can come back another time.

Didn’t expect the room come with little pantry with ricecooker, water kettle, and stove to cook. Plates, cups and utensil for cooking also provided. But they only allow Halal food ya. There is fridge also. Room is very clean and love the sweet pink color room😆 pool is not too deep and have lovely warm temperature. This place is well maintain.

The Mangrove is ideal for a family or friends staycation. The cabins are tucked in a mangrove forest, and each can fit up to 5-6 pax. The beach is just right in front of the place with the cabins overlooking the beach itself. You can park your cars literally in front of the cabins. The owner is super friendly as well! The inside of the cabin is clean and cosy. Each cabin comes with a balcony furnished with tables and chairs, a barbecue pits, and a sink - perfect for your barbecue night! We brought our own portable stove and did some light cooking for breakfast. The wind from the sea is chilling, and you can enjoy the night enjoying the breeze while barbecuing and having some drinks.

The daily schedule is designed for 2 nights, but we wanted some additional quiet time in the jungle so stayed for 4 nights. Jason made sure that we received different meals for lunch and dinner - he really works to make all meals special! The banana pancakes with homemade caramel sauce is phenomenal! The dining room (with ceiling fans) is also a place that you can hang out - have a coffee, read, play cards, visit and/or observe your surroundings. There is always a pitcher of cold and refreshing water waiting for you. There is a terrace off the dining room (no fans) with benches and small tables - great to look out over the landscape. We went on an amazing evening boat cruise every evening (included in the package). The optional sunrise river cruise starts at 5:30 am - beautiful and quiet (additional small fee). During our cruises, our guide/captain Rodel helped us find Pygmy elephants, crocodiles, hornbills, kingfishers, Silver Leaf monkeys, Proboscis monkeys and macaque monkeys. We absolutely loved our time on the Kinabatangan River! Jason, Gert and staff are so calm, friendly and informative. A once in a lifetime experience/place to enjoy nature and learn about/observe amazing Borneo animals in the wild!
