The centrally located Pohutukawa Lodge is an 8-minute walk from Whangarei's town centre. It is 5 minutes' drive from Whangarei Events Centre and Toll Stadium (Semenoff Stadium). Whangarei Airport is a 15-minute drive away. The Manager was most helpful, obliging and friendly. Our apartment was clean, very comfortable, easy access and well located to town and attractions. The manager advised us of the many attractions to be seen. Certainly would recommend the Lodge. the washing machine was very welcome.

Outdoor seating allows guests to enjoy the fresh air. We enjoyed the tranquility of the countryside and feeding the animals was so much fun. We were a little concerned with the lack of AC but the cool night and provided fan was more than sufficient.

Taupo Airport is 61 km away. Big open shared spaces made it easy to navigate. All of the amenities were new or great condition. The bedroom had all we needed and the shared bathroom spaces were modern and very clean.
