We had a wonderful experience staying at Casa de Mario. The location is perfect, right on the hiking trail to Gocta waterfall, with a beautiful view of the falls from the property. The village is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature. Mario is an exceptional host — he knows everything about the area and made us feel completely at home. He even made us a delicious homemade pizza with a purple corn crust — everything organic and full of flavor. We saw hummingbirds in the garden and many other beautiful birds around the property. It’s a great spot for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. If you’re coming to Cocachimba, don’t hesitate — Casa de Mario is the perfect place to stay!

Mamaq Tambo Lodge is secluded a piece paradise with breathtaking views of Gocta falls. The property is has only 3 cottages which adds to the feeling of already large lung spaces lush with greenery. The decor and appointment of the accommodation are authentic, aesthetically pleasing and with a marvellous attention to detail. The food is excellent at all 3 meals and the internet is reliable. The best feature of the property is the family who runs it. Carmen, Francesco, their son Leonardo and their support staff are incredible hosts and guides to the area. Amongst the many highlights is their Sauna perched on top of a hillock with a stunning view of the Cataracts. We will definitely be coming back to stay here and I highly recommend this fantastic property to all travellers, families or otherwise.

Utcubamba River Lodge bevindt zich in Nuevo Tingo met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een gedeelde keuken, bar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. Communication with Janet was excellent before our arrival and she helped me with a couple of queries about the local sights. The young lady who runs the place was very welcoming and the room was absolutely beautiful in an old style with lots of space. The Wifi was average in the room but worked well on the terrace and the swimming pool was a bonus. The shower was superb!! Breakfast was good and all in all a great experience.
