We booked it because it was the only hotel with a swimming pool in the city, even f it was interior. In the heat of summer, that was needed. We were surprised to discover the exterior swimming pool had opened the week before. And what a swimming pool! An absolutely stunning view, a beautifully conceived pool and exterior area.

We have stayed here twice now and would not hesitate to book again. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is very clean and well appointed, with spacious rooms. Our restaurant meal was tasty and cooked to perfection. The location is good and there is a lovely boardwalk alongside the river. We enjoyed the Turkish bath/steam room and sauna too. All in all a fabulous hotel - well worth a visit.

The accommodation is in a great location, spotlessly clean and is a great sized room with a king size bed and large ensuite shower room and small but private balcony and is on the ground floor with only five steps to get to the room which was great as my husband has recently suffered a stroke and is partially paralysed. The hosts are fantastic and extremely helpful. They are local and very easy to contact if necessary. The accommodation is very safe with an outer security door plus a further 3 internal security doors to get to your room. Felt very safe and using keypad rather than keys was great.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome at Carvalhal Redondo Farm House. Everything is tastefully decorated with great attention to detail — it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into it. Breakfast was truly special. It was varied and absolutely delicious, with juices from the farm's own orchard and homemade cakes. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely stay here once more.
