Tirana and day trips from it were perfect for me as a solo...

Tirana and day trips from it were perfect for me as a solo female traveler looking for a friendly, vibrant city with beautiful nature and history to explore. Apart from the splendid natural scenery and Albania's uniquely long history, I particularly enjoyed walking around Tirana every evening. It felt very safe, and there were always local people of all ages walking around, even after midnight! I was also pleased with the hospitality of the service industry workers there, from hotel and restaurant staff and taxi drivers to local tour guides. Everyone was very kind and made me feel welcome. I'm a foodie who has traveled around the world, and there aren't many places that consistently serve tasty food and drinks wherever you go, in and out of the city. There are plenty of local to upscale restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. I don't know enough about Albania's relationship with Japan, but it was a delightful surprise to find many good sushi restaurants in Tirana. Oh, and they have great coffee shops; if you're a coffee lover, you'll be delighted. Locals kept telling me that tourism is a new industry for the country, but I feel the services there are world-class and professional, as if they have been doing this for a long time. It was very easy and reliable to book a tour guide to explore the city or to go on a day trip from Tirana. I was on a private evening walking tour in Tirana and two day-trips out of the town. They were enjoyable, educational, and comfortable. I liked that each tour was always slow-paced and gave you ample time to explore the destination on your own as well. There are more places in Albania to explore, and I still need to go back again.

Hidden Gem in the Balkans – Tirana is a Must-Visit!

Hidden Gem in the Balkans – Tirana is a Must-Visit! Tirana is such a vibrant and welcoming city! I was amazed by how full of life it is — colorful buildings, lively cafés, and friendly locals everywhere. Skanderbeg Square is a great starting point to explore, and from there you can easily visit the National History Museum, the Et’hem Bej Mosque, and the Pyramid of Tirana. What stood out most to me was the atmosphere — relaxed, creative, and full of energy. The Blloku area is perfect for trying local food and enjoying the nightlife, while the Grand Park and Artificial Lake offer a peaceful escape in the middle of the city. Prices are very reasonable, and it’s easy to get around on foot or by taxi. Whether you’re into culture, food, or just discovering something new, Tirana is one of those cities that leaves a lasting impression. I’d highly recommend adding it to your travel list!

Staying n Tirana always a great experience for me.

Staying n Tirana always a great experience for me. There are only few must-see attractions, but walking in Tirana is wonderful. The modern building are varied, light, and cheerful, and fit in well with the old houses. The green parkes and streets and the mountains surrounding the city offer a pleasant view.

Tirana is a hidden gem, although the traffic is horrible, there is pollution and everyone smokes openly. Its still a lovely city with modern building, bohemian neighbourhoods and a lovely mountain (Mt Dajti)

Tirana is a vibrant, colorful city with great food, great people, lots to see, easy connections to the rest of Europe. I loved visiting the city, eating great seafood, lots of healthy salad options now, enjoyed the Bektashi places, mosques, and plenty of churches to see as well. I had a great time there and can't wait to go back.

Great city with great cheap restaurants, and everything else...

Great city with great cheap restaurants, and everything else. Traffic is real bad, so don't try to drive in the city. There are no parkings either. Now, the air pollution is terrible - just be aware. You may not experience it right away, but you will at different times of the day. Bring euros and dollars and exchange them for the market value, instead of using banks and ATMs. Use the city/local buses. It's only 40 cents a ride. Their pastries are probably better than Paris' pastries, and they're not loaded with sugar.

We stayed at 313 Villa City Centre in Tirana for one night and were very satisfied. The hotel is new, just a few months old, and everything is in excellent condition. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help. The room was comfortable and clean, making our stay pleasant.Safe Parking in the back of the hotel. We recommend 313 Villa City Centre to anyone visiting Tirana who is looking for a quiet and well-maintained place. Only 15 min walk from the City Centre. We would definitely consider staying here again.

This hotel was great for a short stat in Tirana. The location is ideal - just a few minutes' walk from the city centre, making everything easily accessible. The room was clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom and excellent climate control. Breakfast was consistently good each morning, and the staff were absolutely fantastic, helping with airport transfers, travel tips, and anything else we needed. Arber deserves a special mention for going above and beyond - thank you Arber!

A beautiful small hotel located in the centre of the city within minutes walk of all the sights, bars and restaurants. The staff, especially Joli, could not have been more helpful with suggestions, answers to our questions, arranging taxis to and from the airport and the seaside. Lovely people, lovely hotel. Could not recommend it more highly. Perfect for our first visit to Tirana and Albania

Everything is new and beautiful little bit in traditional style. Each room is called after Albanian city. The view is beautiful. It's a new building close to the city centre (20 minutes by foot). In room we find the best guest slippers ever 😉 Hospitable owner will help you to feel like at home. Thank you very much Klodian 🙏
