Quaint North Queensland township.

Quaint North Queensland township. Well worth a visit and a walk up and down the main street. Breakfast options poor on a Monday. Only 1 cafe open, but they were doing a roaring trade with travellers, railway workers, tradies, builders, backpackers and locals. Making a mint. Best accommodation in town is The Quarters.

What a beautiful little town.

What a beautiful little town. Main street lined with hanging flower baskets. We ate at restaurant Amore, delish Sicilian cuisine. Next morning met friends for coffee in lovely cafe. Pleased we stayed.

Wonderful art deco accomodation In addition to the lovely large room and very comfortable bed there were very spacious and light filled verandas on three sides of the building which overlooked tropical gardens

Very quirky and interesting town. Tourist info was helpful. Great fun doing Babinda kayaking, although we got horrendously sunburnt. Not much in the way of eating places unfortunately. Great parking. Nice location just off hwy, but still tranquil. Would recommend a short visit.

Babinda Quarters is the converted nurses' quarters of Babinda Hospital. It is an older style government building, very solid and grand. We had an upstairs room with a great view over lawns and garden and lovely fresh breeze. The bathroom was good with a good shower. The bed was very comfortable. Our stay was on a Saturday evening and there was music late from a local club.

Lovely old main street.

Lovely old main street. Great old movie theatre (Friday Saturday and Sunday nights only). Couple of interesting pubs. Great bakery at the bottom of the main street and good cafe (The Kool Spot) at the top of the main street.
