Stayed at Colac central motel on main street was great close to shops. Went to La Porchetta for tea was amazing as had chicken Parm agama was cooked so well. Only had time to shop and see the lake as was on short stay overnight but will be going back to see more. Colac was a very beautiful country town beside the lake that is well worth visiting.

People were awesome and friendly. Only problem was the thousands of semi-trailers travelling right through town every day...Noisy..and the animal trucks with animals on smelled...for a minute each time..they should provide a by-pass for their convenience and ours Otherwise great Excellent shopping, and browsing, entertainment. I came home where i was born, home is where your heart is, We love Colac for family, the lake, gardens, close to beaches , wide roads, different from country to city highlights example wineries, Red rock home of Bulla icecream,

We visited the Colac Botanic Gardens which overlooked Lake Colac. It was very popular with walkers, cyclists and tourists and is very picturesque. It is possible to drive through the gates and around the grounds in a circular drive.
