Coonamble has great coffee and food at The Hazel Cup Cafe

Coonamble has great coffee and food at The Hazel Cup Cafe and wonderful pies at CJ’s Country Kitchen. The gallery at Outback Arts is excellent with helpful and friendly staff. Very easy to shop up a storm. With the impending reopening of Mink and Me and the ongoing refurbishment of the Theatre there is a bit going on in town. I look forward to one day seeing that gorgeous old cafe reopening, a glimpse through the window of the cafe is a treat in itself.

Thats's likely an unfair question as Coonamble has suffered...

Thats's likely an unfair question as Coonamble has suffered from the social and commercial degradation that has occurred in most small Australian inland country towns over the last 40-50 years as more reliable motor cars and better roads enabled locals to shop for a wider and sometimes cheaper price of available goods in large regional centres, e.g. Dubbo. Also, having been a 'local' in my youth, I am also more aware of the surrounding sights and activities than does the average traveller. The resident people, i.e both townspeople and surrounding farmer/graziers, are what gives character to any town, so a preparedness to interact with the "locals" is what will provide travellers with a more meaningful experience.

Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 5 reviews
Thoughtful touches everywhere. This is an excellent place to stay for a single female working in or around Coonamble for a few days (or longer). The location is quiet, yet within easy walking distance of businesses. All those involved at CWA Coonamble are to be congratulated on an excellent initiative. Clean, comfortable, safe and beautifully presented. What is not to love about this!

Absolutely nothing, it was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in many different hotels in the 10 years I’ve been working
