Nice country town, very quiet, surrounding areas need a look, particularly McConnel lookout - well worth the trip, very surprised at the view as I didn’t know Gayndah was on the Burnett river nor did I know how many citrus orchards are in the area until I saw them from the lookout

Interesting history, Gayndah has self reported ‘oldest pub in Queensland’. Make sure to see the ‘Big Orange’ and worth making the quick trip up to Archers lookout in the middle of town for surprisingly good view of Gayndah and Burnett valley.

I was pleasantly surprised by this town.

I was pleasantly surprised by this town. More available than you would first think. There is a look out just north which has amazing views about 260°. Toilets there and covered table and seats which were divinely breezy on a very hot day. Has excellent look out area, amazing view. Has steep grade access on dirt road but we did it in an Aurion. Single lane in parts.

I visit my mum here. It is a lovely town.

I visit my mum here. It is a lovely town. Bakery has great coffee (and I’m from Melbourne!). A couple of other great cafes as well. The Gayndah hotel is also very nice for meals and has a nice atmosphere. Lots of pretty rivers & creeks. Also a great beauty salon/day spa (Leah’s).

The town is lovely, with some gorgeous older homes, the area is beautiful, the shops are surprisingly diverse, as was the population. We found one remarkable place for coffee/breakfast and lunch called NOURISHED. Best coffee, and most interesting and delicious Smashed Avo, ever. The Museum and accompanying shed with Traction engines, carts, old trucks etc is well worth a visit.

We love the attitude of the people, they are so friendly!

We love the attitude of the people, they are so friendly! We enjoyed Archers Point , the view is magnificent and well worth seeing, and the Grand hotel is really grand! The big scorer though is the quality of the takeaway food. The Bakery opens early and they have a quality array to please any palate. We went to a little takeaway just past the hotel and had the best burgers in a long time. All in all, a 100% fub trip!
