Ingham has lost its old town rustic charm.
Ingham has lost its old town rustic charm. I grew up around Ingham, Cardwell and Tully 50 years ago and Ingham has now turned into a place that hasn't got much going for it but cane/farming. If you don't have a skill you, will not find employment there.
Ingham is not what it used to be, a vibrant pulsating town.

Ingham was a pleasant town.
Ingham was a pleasant town. We travelled from there to see the amazing Walloman Falls. We had coffee at the famous Italian JK's Delicatessan and coffee shop. Also a meal at the historic Station Hotel and a drive to the Forrest Beach. The wetlands are interesting but there are resident crocodiles which is off putting..

The photos are deceiving, the standard room is incredibly small and the air-conditioning comes through the toilet, so imagine. The TV turns off every hour and the WiFi was woeful, unusable. The front door kept jamming so had to be slammed. Very dirty grubby, seedy little dungeon.

In the Tyto Wetland in Ingham you can see nearly as much birds species as in Kakadu.
The cemetery in Ingham is a touristic spot.
1 hour drive inland from Ingham you have the Wallaman falls, the biggest in Australia (269m).
A bit south you have the Jourama falls which is a beautiful spot with rock pools.

Ingham isn't really a holiday destination.
Ingham isn't really a holiday destination. We stayed there overnight to break our journey down the Bruce Highway.
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and although the staff in the tourist information were very friendly and helpful, there was nowhere to go out of the rain.

The staff were amazing during my stay here.
I got stuck for the night when the road was closed due to flooding. The room was comfortable and clean and the meals were delicious. This iconic hotel was better than I expected and I’m glad I stayed here.
If I needed a stop over again I would definitely stay again.
It’s a shame there was no beer, or was there? Hmmm …. :) Thanks again, I look forward to calling in on my way through next time.

Not the Tropixx fault and if you need somewhere to stay to break your trip cannot fault the motel room ...however do not believe the hype about Ingham and it's Italian heritage making it a foodies paradise.... Unless you classify dominoes pizza as Italian food. We stayed on a Sunday night and the only NON fastfood / takeaway open was the hinchbrook hotel serving cold and gluggy ravioli. Pretty bad and overpriced.

Lovely set of apartments centrally located in Ingham. Recently renovated and well designed whilst retaining some of the art deco charms of the original building. Our family of three had a lovely two night stay. Great staff who were on hand to help with any questions or issues. Would highly recommend as a base to check out what Ingham and surrounding area has to offer!
