It was fun to get to Karumba & to experience being on the Gulf. We loved seeing all the birdlife around the area & learning about all the industries that call or have called Karumba home. The Les Wilson Barramundi Centre was well worth the visit. Our Sunset Cruise was fabulous - so well catered & simply spectacular.

Book somewhere else, cabin 12 was a rundown shed.

Book somewhere else, cabin 12 was a rundown shed. Book at Karumba Point, much more variety of good accommodation. We checked out earlier than our booking was and left. Choose something else. Karumba Point is a nice area and you have to enjoy fishing. Make sure you look at the map of Karumba and go and stay at Karumba Point...

Wow! This is the gulf! What a fantastic place!

Wow! This is the gulf! What a fantastic place! We were disappointed that the pool was closed for the winter; this is how we do our aerobic exercise. Up north, the pool water temperatures in winter are about the same as those of Victoria in the early or very late summer - cool, but bearable. North Queenslanders just don't like swimming in these temperatures. We didn't pre-book the Ferryman tour, nor the other one that is available. So, we missed out. Did the barra tour - great! We went to the pub at the point and watched the sunset. Unforgettable! Yup! there is nothing like North Queensland!
