The office was closed all weekend. It advertised meals & Breakfast when I rang the number on office door I asked the manager/owner? He said he was not doing meals he was having bed rest after accident but he was walking around okay it would have been nice if we're informed of this when we made booking as I planned that we have breakfast both days as my husband is a diabetic. The room was a bit grubby and fridge freezer had not been defrosted in a long time. Outside was untidy and the ash trays on outside tables had not been emptied from previous guests and were full. Upside if there is one shower was good and aircon worked. For what they charge per night it I expect a clean room at least. Cups & Glasses tea towel chuck cloth but no dishwasing liquid.

Monto is a great little rural town, all the locals we met were very welcoming and appreciated our business. The Albert Hotel have an extensive restaurant menu and the service certainly comes with a smile! Thoroughly recommend!

Monto has the ability to be a charming little town, just like Childers or Mount Perry are. Instead I felt the town lacked any charm at all. It is the gateway to the simply stunning Cania gorge and has the opportunity to capitalist on this. It just doesn't. Asked three locals the legend of the the moons that everything in town is named after. Got three "no idea".

Good location, easy 5 minute walk to the Albert Hotel where our function was being held. Unit was clean but dated, extensive mini bar offerings, staff/owners friendly.
I travel a lot for business and have stayed in many, many motels, hotels or similar accommodation. I stayed overnight in Monto as that was part of my planned journey.
