We had a fantastic time there, the owners are lovely people and made the stay feel very homely. The beach is just a 3 minute walk away, pool is nice and refreshing. The pub in Moore park beach is close by and has some nice veggie options as well as steak etc. ☺️ would definitely stay there again!

My wife and I visited Sweet Retreat as a base to visit the Southern Great Barrier Reef whilst we were up in Bundaberg. The home is in a beautiful setting with amazing sunsets over the cane fields and loads of kangaroos hopping about at dawn and dusk. At night we loved lighting the fire and watching the stars. Louise was a fantastic host, who gave us lots of tips about Bundaberg, kept the home very clean and even gave us some fresh lemonade made from fruit from the garden.

    The only bad thing about the area was the Tavern, which was a segregated one only for vaccinated people. Other than that it was great. IGA people were helpful, 15 minute scooter ride away. Good fish and Chip shop. Chemist masks only.

    Nice place to stay for a couple of days. 20 ks out of Bundaberg but there is an IGA and a Tavern. The bowls club a very friendly club great meal at a reasonable price, but remember to book in Friday night only. If booking in at the motel go direct you get a free breakfast but if you didn’t, you receive a free breakfast voucher for your next visit.

    For a small motel it had everything plus more than the bigger chain hotels we've stayed in recently. Bed was very comfortable. Fridge stocked with soft drinks and water for a 2.00 charge. Plunger coffee. Couldn't ask for more. Jan was very friendly and welcoming especially as we arrived early. We were asked to give them half an hour to finish our room and being close to the beach we went and had lunch there while we waited.

    The beach shack had everything you needed and more. It was very clean, nothing like an impersonal hotel room. Very relaxing and great position for some adventure too.
