FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth is a beautiful, modern city, surrounded by he Swan River which can be walked or cycled around. Kings Park is a delight to explore. Beautiful ocean beaches are wonderful for swimming. A visit to the port city of Fremantle by train is worth it too. Free buses around the city make it easy to explore.

Great transport options where we were based. Beautiful parks, water views and dining options. Kings Park is fantastic. Took the train to Fremantle, outstanding Italian for lunch at Gino's. Breakfast pancakes and waffles in Mt Lawley. Train to the domestic airport.

I really wanted to go to Kings Park in Perth but the GPS on the hire car just woudln't comply. Very disappointed to miss this. The road signs are non existent and any help that could be given just aren't there. But I won't come again so have missed out on this. Meanwhile, my favourite place in WA was the Cape to Cape hike, forget the rest. Should have come home when I finished.

Perth has changed. The CBD feels dystopian.

Perth has changed. The CBD feels dystopian. Very sad reality to high costs of living and drug misuse creating a mental health crisis and homelessness on every street corner. Well policed on the ground and massive crime stopper signs with number on high rises so pretty safe to walk around if you can deal with most shops closing at 5pm except for the disgusting adult shops obviously in demand. Gross!

We had a late night flight from Perth and the staff were really helpful in directing us to hotel facilities we could use to help fill the day, storing (and unstoring) our luggage, and ensuring we were comfortable. The gym is big enough to manage a decent workout and there is a free laundry for guests with very clean machines, and complementary powder. Amazing!

I enjoyed the amazing food so much! It's the best quality food I have had at a hotel in Perth so far. The beds and pillows are awesome. I also enjoy interacting with the staff who are friendly and very kind. The decor in the hotel is so beautiful. I feel happy just looking at how beautiful things look in this hotel.

One of our go-to hotels in Perth. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable. Although the hotel is a little dated now, the rooms are maintained. The breakfast buffet is always very nice and well stocked with an assortment of food for all tastes.
