Enjoyed dining at the local pub and the RSL where excellent meals were provided ... almost too big a portion! The music shop with its wall of vinyl records and the decorated piano standing outside was one of the most unusual sights in Sheffield. We didn't see all the murals but they alone were well worth the trip. I loved 'Stillness and Warmth (17), 'Blackberries and Sorrel' (20), 'The Smithy at Work (21), and 'Mountain Rescue' (22) as well as the magnificent mural on the wall of the RSL. Also, stayed at 'Tanglewood' which was magical; peaceful and luxurious ... could not fault it at all. Looking forward to my next trip to Tassie!

A really good area to stay without the expense of cradke Mountain. Great pub fir meals and excellent cafes for daytime meals. The murals are amazing and you can take a Clydesdale horse tour around the town!

Sheffield has Mount Roland - wow.

Sheffield has Mount Roland - wow. Visible from nearly every aspect of the town. First sight: Heart-stoppingly majestic. Murals are the notable assets, Brilliant, The artists are very talented. There always seems to be something going on in the parks and showgrounds. Very community-minded town, the people are very generous to share their wonderful town with visitors

Sheffield is a pretty rural town of mural, lush farms & Mt Roland in the background. The locals are very friendly & helpful. Only 1 hour to Cradle Mountain & 30 mins to Mole Creek caves. Both natural attractions not to be missed

Great friendly staff, large, clean and comfortable room with small kitchenette. Loved all the artwork/murals on the street walls, tells the story of the town. Nice places to eat especially the Epicurean Cafe.

The hotel was fantastic, we arrived late, we were upgraded...

The hotel was fantastic, we arrived late, we were upgraded to a bigger room and it was lovely a great size. the room was warm and the lights were on for us. i will stay here again next time I'm in Town. Sheffield is a nice town lots of cafes and shops and of course the fantastic Murals.

The accommodation was exceptionally clean, refrigerator stocked with orange juice, milk etc etc. a fresh-baked home made sourdough loaf. Delicious. Books to browse with history of the town, Tasmanian interest books and if that is just not enough for you, Netflix laid on. We loved this wonderful accommodation (in the Maid's Quarters) and will return. Would love to go there in the winter.

Plenty of room. Comfortable amenities. Outstanding shower. Quietness of area. The fact that for the same price you gained 3 rooms rather than the hotel/motel room. That the owners anticipated your needs and provided suggestions for them. That Sheffield is such a picturesque area.

Location was fabulous for hiking Mt Roland.Pool was fantastic. Rooms were older but clean and roomy. Quiet, rural environment. Fantastic views of Mt Roland, right behind the property.
