This area Lac Brome is a very picturesque area, the people are very friendly and there are lots of very interesting quaint little novelty shops in town to visit. It’s a very scenic little town with a lot of charm appeal because the people are very friendly and laid back, nobody seems to be stressed out and down to earth, it kinda has the feeling of Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show, makes you appreciate the fact that there are still small towns like this in existence.

Our main reason to visit Lac-Brome (Knowlton) was to bask in the fascinating world of Louise Penny's Armand Gamache/Three Pines novels. And while the highlight for us was checking out the bookstore and the new café, we loved how beautiful the entire town was. There were so many interesting shops and restaurants to choose from, and it's the perfect place to explore on foot. We had an amazing dinner at Ensemble bar a vin, which offers locally grown and raised produce and protein sources, which were delicious! Breakfast at Auberge Lakeview Inn was also a mouth-watering experience; the smoked salmon eggs Benedict was to die for! We'll definitely spend more time in Lac-Brome when we next visit the Eastern Townships.

Lac Brome/Knowlton, and nearby towns such as Sutton, are more distinctively French than other parts of Québec that we have visited.
French is the dominant language, but everyone we dealt with spoke good English, and even understood our rusty French.
The Cantons de L'Est are well worth exploring.
Fast and seamless border crossings from Vermont.

Thing to know : parking space is limited, would be hard to park more than 2 big vehicles.

Lac-Brome is a cute town with everything you need -- nice restaurants, grocery store, etc. We were there to ski, and all four Eastern Townships ski resorts are within 30 minutes, so this is a great central base to ski more than one resort.

Beautiful, scenic, have been spending a girls' weekend in the area for over 20 years!
Had dinner twice at The Knowlton Pub this trip. The beet salad is my favorite! The quesadillas and fish 'n chips deelish. The onion rings were so good, too! Yummy sangria!

Beautiful Victorian hotel. There's no restaurant but that's OK because we thoroughly enjoy the walk into town for dinner. It's such a pretty walk to get into town.
There is a room with a fridge and toaster where we make our own breakfasts, very convenient. They do offer free coffee at the bar downstairs.
The pool is great and we love lounging around the pool area. Very clean.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
This was our second stay and we're definitely going back!
We arrived early and they upgraded our room. The balcony was a nice refuge from the rain. The hotel is upgrading the backyard for more hot tubs and places to just enjoy the outdoors. The beach was flooded but the lake access is underrated. It is stunning. And the local kayak rental is located on the beach. We could've rented kayaks and paddled into the Quilliam-Durrell Reserve behind the hotel. A place to spot all sorts of birds and wildlike. I'd return in the autumn.

Location was great for the reason we visited Knowlton. The hotel was old, but comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. Particularly enjoyed the community "coffee" room as there were 4 of us in separate rooms.
We visited zoo granby, Douglas Beach at lac-brome and Domaine des Nobles Alpagas it was an amazing trip kids enjoyed it to the most. The chalet was comfortable to sleep after all this activities, quite neighborhood and nice owner.

Domaine Jolivent is set in a beautiful location, with lakes and walks - a lovely swimming pool. The layout of the hotel - outside restaurant and Barn restaurant are picturesque and comfortable.
