If you're OK with walking in the rain, there is a lot PR has to offer: Great restaurants and shops! The people in general are friendly! The air is clean and soft. The ocean is gorgeous especially when it's sunny. You can easily go kayaking with different outfits that take you. There are a number of really great trails to walk. The cannery site in Port Ed is well worth the trip out there and the food there is amazing. There is usually something going on that involves live music and other performances. It's got a nice vibe. People tend to be unpretentious and down to Earth. But one thing I noticed is that the number of East Indians is huge and I felt like a minority....it feels like an invasion...I am not racist but it was so noticeable. It's too much.

You have to allow for the fact that the airport is an 18 minute ferry ride off shore and the bus runs once a day to meet the one ONLY flight that leaves! Air Canada @ 3:40 pm Train goes three days a week to prince George for another choice; Driving is not good as it is far away from any other big city Vancouver is many hours away by car!

Great places to eat and friendly locals. Lovely scenery.

Great places to eat and friendly locals. Lovely scenery. We had coffee at Cowpuccino’s and dinner at the brewery. Also ate at Breakers. There is a fabulous Safeway and Enterprise car rental were very helpful. The cultural museum is a must. It has a great view over the water.

Enjoyed the waterfront although it was difficult to access from where we were. Beautiful scenery & very walkable. Liked the old buildings & homes & the surprises like the sunken gardens. Bit busy with a cruise ship in so we took a drive out to the NW Cannery which was an amazing historical site.

we enjoy Rupert -- the harbour, gift shops...Shopping is limited but that isn't a problem for us. good coffee shops, Sushi and other dining, walking at the salt marsh near the float plan docks, and on the waterfront is always interesting. some adventure travel is easily available -- grizzly bear watching in the Kutzimateen, walking the Metlakatla wilderness trail. all good.

We just overnighted in Prince Rupert as we were sailing on the Skidegate ferry the following morning. We drove in from Edmonton that day, and have been doing this trip for the past four years. We found that because of the lack of eating establishments at 9:00 pm in Prince Rupert, we always stop at a restaurant in Terrace to eat.

The floor in our room sloped quite heavily which made me feel like I was going to roll out of the bed. The bathroom sliding door was super sticky and hard to close. The kitchen area was great but the $100 fine for not taking out your garbage at the end of your stay made it feel more like and AirBnB rather than a hotel. Having the option to do a load of laundry with complementary laundry detergent was a great bonus.

An ol' standby in Rupert. Used to be the Coast hotel I think. It is a no-nonsense highrise in the middle of town. Easy walking to wherever downtown. Front desk staff was very helpful and sorted out a booking issue. Breakfast is fine. No complaints.

Nice clean rooms and comfy bed. The location is close to a mall, and also where the Prince Rupert Airport shuttle drops off and picks up.
