Just wanted to try a boutique motel, did not have any expectations, so it was a cute experience to stay at Penny’s. One can feel the owner took a lot of thinking into the design of the rooms and the surrounding sitting areas. For people staying there for ski trips and trail walks, it is a good location. Thornbury is a very nice and quiet town. Great breakfast places within walking distance.

There isn't a better "base" for a trip to cider country and the surrounding attractions. Right off the main road to everywhere. Beds were LOW! Easy for short people to climb onto. A refreshing change from hotel beds which are four feet high! And the staff were super-friendly.

The location of the hotel is amazing. The kitchen has everything you might need, including the dishwasher detergent. Detail-oriented and organized. The staff was very, very helpful, whatever we needed.

Everything was just fantastic - stuff, location, rooms, playground next to the hotel, exit to the fantastic terrace, exit to the lake, gorgeous view.

The hotel is dated - toilet did not work - therefore the cost for a one night stay is not justified
