FAQs about hotels in Vancouver

Outstanding Capital of the Outdoors

Vancouver is an outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain, is a favorite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.

Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch and putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.

Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home field of the city’s football and soccer teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.

With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

We could go on and on about British Columbia's biggest city, but we could never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodations, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near all of its ferry ports.

Lovely City, lots to do and would recommend hiring a bike and riding around the sea wall in the park, fabulous restaurants and eateries, The Aquarium is well worth a visit and Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a must, and the Hop on and Off bus gets you all over the area very well.

Lots of choices of activities. We have visited many times. This time was to attend a concert, and we spent the next day visiting Granville Island Market and the Vancouver Museum before taking the ferry back home.

This was my second visit to Vancouver, and I visited some of the same attractions again. Capillano Bridge Park was a must-see and the Halloween decorations were especially fun. The Museum of Anthropology was another wonderful attraction and a real bargain. The Aquarium was a bit of a disappointment - but it was a rainy Saturday and REALLY crowded with families with kids and strollers, so that probably colored my impression. We had a tour guide for our first day, who showed us many of the city sights, including the market and the steam clock and the Marine Building. Loved the Laughing Men installation at English Beach. Great restaurants - we had lots of good food.

My time in Vancouver was shorter than I hoped, and the rain seemed to follow me everywhere, but that didn’t dull the city’s charm. Between the dramatic mountains, scenic trails, and vibrant city life, Vancouver truly offers the best of both nature and urban exploration.

Needed a lot more time.

Needed a lot more time. Stanley Park was amazing but I only saw just a little of it. The Hop on Hop off buses were fantastic, really enjoyed Sherry, one of the drivers commentary. The Capilano suspension bridge is worth the trip, as to the Sea to Sky Gondola. Just trying to time your day around the weather. Remember to pack a raincoat/umbrella.

Great location in English Bay, near restaurants, shops, coffee, supermarket, beach, photo opportunities. From the Sands, we walked to Granville Market and rented bikes just over the road to explore Stanley Park and False Creek. We even walked from The Sands to Gastown. This place was more affordable than many other downtown Vancouver hotels

While the hotel is a bit dated, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and a mini bar was provided. The room included a bath and the bathroom towels very luxurious. The bathroom supplies were excellent. The location was good with easy walk to downtown Vancouver.

Very nice hotel, in a great part of Vancouver. Definitely recommend. Close to fun Robson Street and the waterfront. All in walking distance. The room (suite) was great: living, kitchen en separate bedroom.

Location is fairly good. It's very easy and cheap to go to downtown Vancouver. Take bus 99, and then SkyTrain to waterfront.
