Fantastic city - great restaurants, plenty of wonderful historic sites, loved the public transportation options and ease of access to outlying areas. We felt safe and welcomed. We really loved the medieval wall with towers and the closeness of Mt. Rigi.

Luzern is very beautiful city and worth a lot to visit. It is really possible to find cafe or possibilities to have an affordable meal . People at the street great you , everyone very friendly and you have a feeling to be at home! City is full of various museums, excursion possibilities and great food! I think everyone should visit this beautiful place!!!!

Lucerne city center is very easy to walk around. Spend some time strolling at the lake promenade and other times sipping coffee in different cafes in the small streets. Also, the small train tour is worth it to explore the history and nice architecture If you have time.

Plan for a lot of walking although it's easy to hop on/off trams. Delicious restaurants, gelato shops and bakeries on just about every block. We were surprised at how crowded it was in early September, but the weather was temperate, so a good time to go. If you travel from there to Zermatt, take the earliest train possible, otherwise, it's very crowded (standing room only).

Great city to visit. Lots of things to do and see. Can't miss the funicular ride up to mount Pilatus or a boat cruise. Lots of historical sites. If it weren't for the prices I would move there in a heart beat.

We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t enough time. I would highly recommend the transportation museum-it’s more like a destination. It’s also free with the Swiss Travel pass. Don’t miss the Lion Monument and Glacier Park that is next to it. Be sure to take a boat ride to relax and enjoy Lake Lucerne and visit Mt. Rigi along the way. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance for Mt. Pilatus due to weather-use the weather cams to check out weather at the top of the mountains. The Military Fortress is also a fascinating place to see and marvel at the location in which it was constructed, it might be chilly for some, but they provide coats if needed. So much more to see…next time!
