Our family had a wonderful stay in the Junior Suite. Many thanks for setting it up for our little family (5 year old and 2 year old). The room was large and beautifully renovated. The location was absolutely perfect and central to see Stein Am Rhein. There is also a large and convenient bike garage which was super helpful for us as we were traveling by bicycle.

We did not know what to expect when booking a room in a castle during winter time, especially as the price was more affordable or on par with other accommodations in the region. We were given an upgrade of our room upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. We received a quite big, beautifully decorated room with a very comfortable armchair, and with a bathroom a couple of steps down the hall, which was not that big of a deal, especially when you think that you are in a castle, and castles did not have toilets in the room. Also the bathroom was modern, warm, and super clean so there was absolutely no problem on that end. It is still private. The location was very good for us as we had a plan to see Schaffhausen and Rheinfall and this is just 20 min drive away. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was excellent as well as the wine which was from a winery below the hill. The hotel/restaurant staff were super kind, they really added a little extra to this wonderful experience. In the evening we enjoyed being in the courtyard, enjoying the silence and the view of/from the castle, it felt like we had it for ourselves. We would gladly come back, hopefully someday we will.

The staff was very friendly and kind. The hotel is situated in a very calm area so sleep was excellent. The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It was a very nice experience and I would definitely stay there again.

Large, comfortable, clean room. Friendly staff, a good breakfast buffet with many homemade bread and jams, fresh eggs, good coffee. Good bicycle storage, excellent dedicated bike path between Stein am Rhein and Ramsen. Lovely, relaxing village.

Walk to old town along footpath was picturesque.

Walk to old town along footpath was picturesque. Walk to Diessenhofen then return with boat was delightful - the bridge crossing to Germany merits a visit and great food immediately behind the Boat Station. Of course the medieval building in Stein am Rhein are astonishing - and visit to St George Museum was very interesting (if you like historical places).

Stein am Rhein is simply stunning, with buildings whose facades are works of art. The nearby villages, about 20 km away, are also interesting: Munot, Schaffausen, and especially Rheinfall: the magnificent waterfalls.

Wagenhausen in itself is not very interesting, but this village is located 2 km from Stein-am-Rhein which is a small historic and picturesque town - accessible on foot along the Rhine in 15-20 minutes.

Quiet location with good transport links and close to the...

Quiet location with good transport links and close to the historic town of Stein am Rhein. The on-site restaurant (Landgasthof Camping) offers excellent food. The excursion to Stein am Rhein on our departure day was well worth it: historic buildings, a very charming old town, and at least two museums.
