So, there is nothing about Puerto Montt.
So, there is nothing about Puerto Montt. I thought it would be a nice city. But its not. So skip it, instead better stay in Puerto Varas - it is closer to the nice things in the area, hotels are good and atmosphere is better. We went on a shopping trip, so didn't go to any beaches or other touristy places, except to have fish/seafood lunch in Angelmo. We had dinner in a pleasant Peruvian restaurant near our hotel. The seafront in the city centre is attractive or a stroll when the sun comes out - we were lucky on the second day. The large mall opposite has all kinds of things at good prices, especially if you live in Argentina! the city is a good base or starting point to explore the region. The city itself is unremarkable in my view but is close to a lot of amazing places: Peulla, Petrohue, Cochamo, Chiloe island, Puerto Varas, Vicente Perez national park, Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay... We rented the yellow house which was right on the water. The accomodation was spacious, very cute and perfect for us. I had a bedroom and ensuite upstairs, my son the room downstairs with his own bathroom. The kitchen was small but adequate and the fact that Andrea supplied breakfast each day made it easy to self cater.
