NetherlandsJuan, his wife and staff are very friendly and helpful hosts. The location is wonderful. The bungalows are very nicely located and well furnished. The breakfast is delicious and with love prepared. It is very nice that the common room was open until 22.00pm and that free coffee and tea was available the whole day. Juan arranged a very nice excusion with a friendly and considerate guide to Salar de Surire.

Putre is a pleasant, small, clean, authentic Chilean place in a wonderful location with some original restaurants, small supermarkets where you can buy enough for daily needs and there is even a bank.

The town itself seemed small and sparsely populated.
The town itself seemed small and sparsely populated. What's spectacular are the surrounding areas: the mountains, volcanoes, wetlands, and so on. Putre is truly an excellent base from which to explore places of breathtaking beauty and admire the high-altitude flora and fauna.

A small mountain village with a good Peruvian restaurant...
A small mountain village with a good Peruvian restaurant recommended by the hotel management. It's a starting point for breathtaking hikes within easy reach. The owner offers itinerary advice and can act as a guide upon request. (They sell gasoline, which is very important.)

Putre, a small village, has retained all its charm. It is ideally located for visiting this magnificent region. If you suffer from altitude sickness, the clinic in Putre is excellent. I unfortunately had the opportunity to confirm this.

A great starting point for excursions around the Parinacota...
A great starting point for excursions around the Parinacota province. The people are very friendly, and it's worth taking the time to explore its streets. There are many walks you can take from Putre to acclimatize to the altitude.

The location is beautiful, the price is right, and the kindness and service we received from our host, Jesusa, put this location over the top. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, and the dinners came out great too.
We used one of our days in Putre to get over the soroche (altitude sickness) and the food and views gave us something to enjoy while feeling less than great.

Very peaceful and tranquil place at the foothills of Lauca NP, offers a great view and is located just outside of Putre. The hosts are super friendly and cook a great meal for you, so there is no need to get into the village at all. Rooms are very clean and there are plenty of warm blankets.
