The staff was really nice. It's located 500 m from the observatory (there are 5 observatories in Tatacoa desert) which is convenient if you want to do the star gazing. It's also 5 min walk from a few restaurants. They offer breakfast, luncb and dinner for a small charge. They rent bikes and offer a tour to the Grey and Red desert which we took as it was nice hearing about the fornations, how the desert (or rather dry tropical forest) came to be. There's a lot of different types of birds in the garden. Since it's in a desert, there's no electricity, meaning there's no fridge, but they have ice available if you want to cool your drinks. There's no wifi which we didn't mind as it was nice to relax and just enkoy the nature. Staff was very helpful with organizing the transport back to Villaviejas. The room was nice and quite spacious, clean, but very hot (which is to be expected in the middle of the desert). There's a fan in the room.

This hotel was great value. Right on the edge of the desert to go to the red and grey desert as well as the night sky observatories. Breakfast was good, thank you to Katherine who stayed up late for us to arrive and helped us with some late night issues. Pool was nice to relax in, bed was comfortable and air conditioning was working and needed in the heat.

Super friendly yet chilled and not overwhelming family who runs the place. A laid-back atmosphere, far better than the hotel around the corner which tried to screw us over. Here they are honest and always happy to help us with whatever you may need. Don't expect super high-end facilities, but for the price, they are very good. Things work, AC works, shower works (cold only like usual around here), bedsheets and towels are white and clean. Basically a very nice place with large courtyard and pool where you can see heaps of birds, including hummingbirds, and a laid-back feel to it. Our kids loved it.
