The staff are lovely and make sure that your every need is met. The nights are cold in Guatavita, but the heated sheets and comfortable beds mean that this is not a problem. We used the jacuzzi every night to warm up before bed and enjoy the fresh night air after spending time at the communal fireplace. The breakfasts were hot and delicious. The view of the lake and hillsides is stunning.

Everything! there is an amazing view of Tomine reservoir and the mountains. There is a lot of privacy as there’s is only one glamping, plenty of open space and an area to eat. The glamping is spacious, has comfortable bed, a mini bar, etc. There are also plenty of activities that you can book with the help of the family running the business such as quad bikes, horses, body massages, ecological walks where you can learn loads about the native forest. Gloria and Eri are the best hosts ever, the customer service is above all expectations. The food was delicious, home made and healthy. I’m vegetarian and they’ve provide suitable options for me, thanks :)

We loved absollutely everything,. We had the small glamping on the very top which gave us a wonderful view from our bed. The breakfast is brought to you in the early morning so you don't have to go out, this is a plus in the cold morning. They're well separated so you have your privicity. Keep in mind the check in is in a different spot and they will guide you to the glamping, this is like 5-8 min away, so it's fine. The road is not pavimented so be carefu. We loved the service, they were all really kind and clear. We even had a problem arriving and they did wait for us without any problem.

Follow the signs from the main highway between Sesquile and Guatavita to the ticket area. There are a number of places that will offer parking, go to the end and park at the gate. Parking is free, however the attendant certainly appreciated something. They only spoke Spanish, however the guide was excellent and everyone was very nice. Us old folks get a good discount. The trip up to the lake is maybe 1 1/2 Km. The first 2/3 is a nice paved path. The last is a steep accent with about 100 stair steps interspersed with a steep path. If your not used to the altitude it will take a bit to get up. The guide will leave you at the top to make your way along the top. There is only one trail and we had no problems. There will be a couple of guards along the way. On the way back as you exit the park you have the opportunity to take a bus back to the parking, it was reasonable and I would recommend as the path back was 3.5 KM on a one lane dirt road. They sold the tickets at a small kiosk next the restaurant at the end of trial where it meets the road.

Without a doubt, visiting Lake Guatavita was the best part...

Without a doubt, visiting Lake Guatavita was the best part of the trip; walking around the Tomine Reservoir was also great. We ate at La Mirla Restaurant and it was delicious; the weekday prices seemed quite reasonable.

There are few activities for families with children, however, for a two-day stay it was very good to explore the town, the local crafts, walk around and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Guatavita is a charming town that connects you with nature, breathes fresh air, and serves delicious food. I highly recommend the Indigenous Museum, walking to the reservoir, visiting the lagoon, seeing the lighthouse, the church, the town square, and trying the desserts.

The town is very pretty, but it gets very crowded on...

The town is very pretty, but it gets very crowded on holidays, so it's best to go during the week. A must-see is Lake Guatavita, full of nature and culture. For young children or families, I recommend the Casa Loca (Crazy House) or Casa al Revés (Upside-Down House).

Guatavita is a charming place, a very peaceful, safe, and welcoming town. Its people are very friendly. You can visit the Tomine Reservoir (it's a relaxing hike), and you can visit the Guatavita Lagoon and the Casa Loca (Crazy House) for an additional fee.
