There's every animals you can imagine in the country (even rare birds and the 3 types of monkeys next to the pool) Relaxing and beautiful gardens with majestic trees. The pools are amazing. We had dinner at the new restaurant and it was behind our expectation.

Liberia is a good jumping off spot for the northern half of Costa Rica. It's worth spending a couple of nights there if you stay at Hotel Liberia which is downtown. Although Liberia itself doesn't offer much in the way of tourist attractions, it's a good central spot for some of the nearby parks.

We planned organized day trips for our 5 days in Liberia and...

We planned organized day trips for our 5 days in Liberia and it was perfect. The various day trips pick up people from the coast and then pass through Liberia on their way to places like Arsenal volcano area, to see the sloths or other attractions and also for the single day trips to Nicaragua. By staying in Liberia we were the last to be picked up and the first to be dropped off, saving us 3 to 4 hours of extra travel in the van. Some off the people we met on our day trips were picked up at 4 am, we got picked up at 6 or 6:30 am, and then dropped off at 5 or 6 pm while the others drove back their coastal resort 1.5 to 2 hours further away from Liberia.

I would hope this helps people avoid Costa Rica, third world country, third world service, third word food and prices double almost every first world country, the airport and hotels charge 10 dollars for a 50 cent bottle of water

DONT go to Tamarindo - was there 5 years ago and now it’s called Tamagringo - everything was expensive and VERY touristy. We got ripped off a lot .. Still some nice unspoiled parts of Liberia if you stay off the beaten track .

Costa Rica is wonderful and the central park in Liberia was...

Costa Rica is wonderful and the central park in Liberia was a really nice place to stop and have lunch. The park has a statue commemorating the actions of Juan Santamaria, Costa Rica's national hero. It is a great story detailing human courage and how important one man can be in the greater scheme of things.

It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste.

It´s a well developed city at the heart of Guanacaste. You can find all the main businesses and stores in the country. It´s also conveniently located near the main tourist attractions like Rincon de la Vieja national park, La Leona waterfall hike, Santa Rosa National Park and the Papagayo peninsula beaches among others.

The best thing is the little hanging spot, where there are hammocks. Feels like a piece of heaven, surrounded by nature, flowers, and humming-bird. There is also a small kitchen and a fridge, allowing you to save a few bucks and cook your own meals and breakfast. The bathroom we used, which included a toilet and a shower, was very clean! It is also near supermarkets, sodas, and the bus terminal, with buses going pretty much everywhere in Costa Rica! Overall, a really nice spot, and would recommend to anyone traveling to Liberia!

This hotel was satisfactory. The cabins were cute and clean with TV, fridge, and AC ,that worked well. The bed was fine. The pool was enjoyed by families staying in the cabins. The food was typical food and was quite nice. The communication was good, and the manager seemed to do all the work and was pleasant. We stayed for one night before heading to the airport.
