This is probably the best hotel on the island of Santo Antao. The whole thing makes you feel like you're in a castle. The owner is very helpful, she takes care of every detail of your stay. Although my room wasn't perfect I got a better room for the same price - for which I am very grateful. From the hotel you have an ideal point for mountain hiking to any place. Breakfasts are very tasty, everyone will find something for themselves. Erick was very helpful and always smiling during meals. This is an amazing place and an amazing island. Obrigado!

There's no better place to stay in Santo Antão. Very beautiful house close to all the restaurants in Paul and many amazing hikes nearby. The owner lives in the same house with his family and you get to sit with them for breakfast which is cooked freshly every day (pancakes with papaya jam, fresh banana and papaya juice, local goat cheese, omelette,..). I cannot recommend staying here enough - we wanted to stay for one night only but ended up staying three. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. If we ever come back to the island, Luz d'Sol is where we will go!

Staying at Black Mamba was such a great choice! I was traveling with my mother and sister and we absolutely had the best time there. The owner and staff are so welcoming and warm, they made us feel right at home! Also, the food is great and the location is also a plus. It is close to Vale do Paul and very easy catch the colectivos to other parts of the island. We definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect place if you want to visit the nature of Santo Antão, as you’re right in the middle of a beautiful valley with hikes right outside the door and easy transportation to the towns and other hikes. The facilities are perfect and it’s very clean and comfortable.

The hotel is very nicely located. The staff is helpful and very polite. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is delicious. Good drinks. If you have a car, it is a perfect base for trips around the island. Apart from the hotel restaurant, there are others in the area. It was a very nice time spent in this hotel. I really loved this place! I am convinced it’s the best hotel in Santo Antão. Everything was very clean, new, and beautiful. The room was great and the bed was very confortable. I slept so well! The staff were amazing — really nice and always ready to help. Breakfast was delicious, homemade and fresh! and we had dinner at the hotel twice: highly recommended! This hotel is perfect for relaxing after long hikes and exploring the island. I strongly recommend it! Thank you!!! 🙏🏾 😊

    Very small village but with lots of charm.

    Very small village but with lots of charm. Visit the Hotel Tienne del Mar for a dinner or for a drink, there are amazing views. Pombas is also a good place for some great hikes (Cova-Pombas or Pombas-Pico da Cruz-Janela).
