    We walked the route - Rotweinwanderweg -it was spectacular and we had lovely lunch at Marienthal. Make sure where to catch the bus back. There is no indications in Dernau and the train does not operate --railway is under construction. Bad Neueahr is easy to walk around.

    Cute old town centre that gets plenty of visitors on the weekends but not too crowded. There's a variety of nice restaurants in the area and places to try the local wines. We went here specifically to hike and you can walk straight to a number of scenic hiking routes on either side of the valley, no need to take a bus or drive anywhere, which was a huge plus.

    It is a very special and picturesque place surround by a wall from ancient times . The surroundings are excite with the vineyard descending in the hills. Old history from Roman times and more modern times worth visiting. May good walks. A special area of gourmet restaurant with a great variety of excellent wine.

    We prefer Bad Neuenahr to Ahrweiler, as Ahrweiler is the old historic part and gets very busy with tourists. Bad Neuenahr is more modern with river and cycling routes, also many places to eat and drink. we know it so well as we have been going for about 10 years!

    Location is full of confort: large bed, plenty of kitchen devices, A gentle guard was there to host us and give us kind advises and suggestions. We loved enjoying form the terras We went in the past (prior the flood of 2021) in Bad-NewArht. We discovered a complete new area we really loved. Possibility to walk or enjoy from thermal facilities in about 20 km. The Wine party was very pleasant.

    The main hotel (and restaurant) building was still closed after the flood, but we stayed in the adjacent "Beethoven Haus". The owner was extremelely nice and accommodating. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and very calm. It's maybe 10 minutes on foot from the center, with nice views. Great quality for the price.
