My family and I decided to take a spontaneous vacation for the weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased with the decision to book a room at the Maritime Hotel in Bad Wildungen. The reception staff was exceptional, going out of their way to answer any questions or assist us. My daughter loved the fitness room and my wife found the food and dining delightful. We highly highly recommend!

Everything at this hotel was good. Location was stately and romantic and perfect for couples. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. We really felt we were being taken good care of.

I arrived too late to get dinner in hotel's restaurant but the bar was still open. Bartender served me three kinds of beer as well as several liquors free of charge. I was very hungry afterwards and almost missed breakfast, and the waiter baked three extra buns for me. They treated me here like at home.

Bergfreiheit is known as the Snow White village.

Bergfreiheit is known as the Snow White village. There's a Snow White house there where Snow White and the seven dwarfs are depicted. It's an old mining settlement with its own mine that visitors can explore. There's also a small but excellent historical mining museum and a gemstone cutting workshop.

The apartment was located in a quiet village among the grain fields. It has a dated interior, but we knew that beforehand. A working pool was nice, though. The beds were a bit saggy, but the bedding was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was old, but everything worked properly. The bathroom was old, but clean!

Just a nice hotel.

Just a nice hotel. There was a fridge downstairs where you could grab a beer, just write down your room number. There was a fridge on the landing to store your personal belongings. There was even a toothbrush and toothpaste in the shower. The swimming pond is currently empty due to renovations, but I think it will be very nice when it's finished. We weren't particularly fond of showering in the bathtub, but it was fine for a one-time visit.

Bergfreiheit is a small village nestled in the forest, making it a wonderful starting point for hikes and bike tours. Lake Edersee and the surrounding towns are easily accessible by car or motorcycle.
