The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was one of the best I have seen in any of the accommodations we stayed in during our journey from England to Hungary and back. The village was pretty and quiet. I had a relaxing walk around the village with my dog. There is a lake just 15 minutes away from the guesthouse and you can also walk along the Danube. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for breakfast.

The hotel is pretty close to the city centre, but not far from the train station, there are plenty of nice restaurants and cafes right close to it. The interior of my room was a little kitschy, but the bed was nice and big. The room was a little small, so it might not be a perfect option for a couple. Also, my room had a weird electricity system, but the hotel employee helped me to get a handle of it and it wasn't that complicated in the end.

Really nice location and Walhalla is great and Regensburg is...

Really nice location and Walhalla is great and Regensburg is definitely worth a visit. Donaustauf is small but you can basically find everything you need. There are a lot of walks and tracks nearby in beautiful nature, The restaurant "Kupferkanne" is a good location to eat just not a lot of veggie stuff but wonderful meat dishes and you can also stay for the night in the hotel.

Great destinations for day trips include the Walhalla...

Great destinations for day trips include the Walhalla memorial and the Donaustauf castle ruins, which offer a unique view. Watching the sunset at the Walhalla with a bottle of wine is a highlight and a popular tradition. The small town center also has its charm; the park around the Chinese Tower is beautiful, and there are plenty of good restaurants.

The room was good (equivalent to the originally promised room 142); breakfast was also fine again. The limited hours at reception (8 am to 8 pm daily) were bad, as was the fact that there was no longer a beer garden or restaurant due to staff shortages.

The place is peaceful and cozy; the Walhalla and the castle ruins are not far from the hotel. Both offer fantastic views, making the climb worthwhile. There's plenty to see if you take the time. There are enough restaurants, and a supermarket is nearby.

Free parking; from evening onwards, food was available (beer garden), or you could have a drink in or around the hotel. An elevator provides access to the upper floors. The room size was very good. Other restaurants were also within easy reach. Walks in the nearby forest were possible. The Danube was close by. The hotel had a large shower and a separate toilet.

We had only booked one night as a stopover on our journey...

We had only booked one night as a stopover on our journey from Schleswig-Holstein to Vienna. Nevertheless, we used the short time to visit the Walhalla (highly recommended) and take a walk through Donaustauf. We would have loved to have spent more time there.

Friendly staff, free parking just outside of the hotel, comfy beds and good breakfast served in the morning. Close to a nice castle ruin and also Walhalla, which has a stunning view over Danube. Recommended for a stay while travelling through Germany.
