People who enjoy nature, birds – especially cranes – and...

People who enjoy nature, birds – especially cranes – and cyclists will find this area ideal in autumn. The Kranorama in Günz, the viewpoint in Zarrentin, and Barhöft are all recommended. It's very quiet, with few restaurants and activities nearby. However, Stralsund, Rügen, and Darss are all within easy reach.

Good for walking and cycling.

Good for walking and cycling. There are no grocery stores nearby. The restaurant just across the street requires a reservation, ideally when booking your room. The lady there was very unfriendly. We then opted for the Stralsund Torschliesserhaus. We also had a reservation, but after politely asking, we got a table and ate very well for a reasonable price.

The grounds look like something out of a painting, simply...

The grounds look like something out of a painting, simply picturesque, so you really have to stand in the parking lot for 10 minutes and just gawk. The rooms are quite cramped, but functional. They're too small for more than a few days. Breakfast is good... bacon and scrambled eggs would have earned it a 'very good' rating.

The lamps were dim, making it difficult to read.

The lamps were dim, making it difficult to read. One lightbulb in the bathroom was broken. The electrical outlets were replaced with triple outlets using 1.5m cables. The window wouldn't open fully; it was stuck. The instructions for opening the key safe were poor.

A well-maintained village with noticeable new construction.

A well-maintained village with noticeable new construction. A good starting point for excursions by car towards Stralsund/Rügen or Darß. Tourist information is available in the village, along with a small espaliered orchard, an inland beach, and the nearby town of Barhöft with its observation tower and harbor.

A pretty little village.

A pretty little village. We were there by car, so we could also take longer trips. A very nice area for cycling. The local restaurants (Solkendorf, Barhöft) are best booked in advance, even for just two people. We'd gladly come back again.
