We spent a wonderful and very interesting night in the amazing Schiefes Haus in the Fisherman's Quarter of Ulm. The house dates back to 1443 and is known as the Leaning House and boy does it lean !! The history of the house is very intriguing, especially how it was saved from falling into the small river on which it was built !! Our room (Standard King) was really lovely with a mix of the old house and the modern renovations, which were done to preserve the building. It is absolutely fascinating. Both the hotel and our room were absolutely spotlessly clean, the staff were very pleasant and were hugely helpful, especially Karina, and the breakfast was just perfect. Our bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent sleep. The location of the hotel in the old fisherman's quarter was very cute. It was also within easy walking distance of everywhere in the city. The famous Ulm Minster cathedral was close by and we did manage to climb the huge steeple...!! There were lots of nice bars and good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel. We could not recommend a stay at this hotel more strongly.

Senden resembles a commuter town for Ulm.

Senden resembles a commuter town for Ulm. It's not exactly a tourist attraction. We were just passing through, but will book somewhere else next time. Many shops are closed on Sundays, but there are plenty of bars (for alcohol).

The room was very large and comfortable.

The room was very large and comfortable. The welcome was not very friendly. When they saw my dog—the facility was supposed to be welcoming—they told me it would cost 30 euros. In 12 years of vacationing with my dog, I've never paid anything like that.

Great location for many purposes.

Great location for many purposes. Nearby attractions include Ulm's old town, Ulm Minster, and Legoland. Ideal for a stopover on the way to or from your holiday, as it's right next to the motorway.

Senden has good shopping opportunities.

Senden has good shopping opportunities. Witzihausen is a quiet, sleepy town. Lots of peace and quiet and nature. The hotel restaurant is unfortunately closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The train station is a 10-minute walk away. Ulm is easily accessible and offers inexpensive day tickets.
