The staff were excellent, exceptionally helpful, and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The room was very good, clean, and larger than we anticipated. The bed was comfortable and the linen was of a very high standard. Breakfast was a very fresh buffet with a good level of choice.

The breakfast and all the meals at the hotel were truly excellent. I would encourage people to stay at this hotel for the food alone, but the staff were all courteous, effective and helpful. This is a fine example of a fine family owned hotel with excellent food. The location in a pretty village about 12 miles from downtown Freiburg was very good for walking and enjoying the open air life.

The hiking trails are very well signposted, suitable for young and old, and the interesting stations along the way feature charming texts and illustrations. As is well known, many restaurants were closed, but a local gave us a great tip: a cozy restaurant by the sports field. The food was delicious. The guided tour of the oil mill was very interesting.

The location is somewhat secluded, but ideal if you want to go for walks and simply enjoy some peace and quiet. There are ski and toboggan runs nearby, so getting around by car is no problem. There are also very good restaurants serving excellent German cuisine.

Beautiful old, rustic inn. The rooms are wonderfully charming with a modern, country feel. There's a restaurant/tavern on the premises, serving fresh, high-quality products. The bus stop is right outside. With a guest card, you get free bus travel and free train tickets to Freiburg.

Simonswald is well connected to public transport, and the network of paths and hiking trails is well signposted. It was very convenient that we could use public transport free of charge with the guest card, allowing us to tailor our hikes and visits to surrounding areas to our needs.

We had a warm welcome at the Landgasthaus Gruener Baum. The room was nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable, with a private balcony overlooking the valley. We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings – the food was delicious! We would strongly recommend it for a stay in Simonswald.

The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was great and customized for us (we needed lactose free dairy), the rooms were comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was solid. There's a wonderful public pool nearby that the hotel gave us passes for.

Charming hotel blending traditional common areas with modern rooms, perfect for a peaceful retreat. Delicious breakfast. The restaurant offers great quality but is a bit pricey. Great balcony with relaxing views that we enjoyed every evening.
