Our fourth time in this hotel and already planning the next. We love everything about this hotel, fabulous facilities, great food,friendly helpful staff and perfectly placed for touring the beautiful black forest, I can't recommend the Klosterbraustubern enough

What a perfect spot for a stop over. We were on our way home after a week in Italy and could not have asked for a better place to spend our evening and night. The hotel has a magnificent view. The road wasn't very busy, so all we heard was the water in the stream across the road. The food in the restaurant was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good too. A funny robot cat brought our coffee to the table. So much fun for the children!

This is a great family run place, right in the middle of the old town of Gengenbach. With all amenities you could need. Sauna, outdoor pool, outdoor breakfast/lunch/diner. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Gengenbach is a small town I'd seriously recommend visiting and it's a great place to stay for a few days.

Stayed here before and will do again. All the staff are very good, rooms are large and mine included a balcony. Lots of options for breakfast. The bar is nicely located and has outdoor seating. Dinner was good.

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, fantastic sense of humour, clean and comfortable, food was out of this world, reasonable priced, wish we could have stayed longer, will be going back as soon as we can.

Zell is a lovely little town with several sights to see.

Zell is a lovely little town with several sights to see. It did seem a bit deserted on Saturday after 2 pm. The food at the Klosterbräustuben is very good and plentiful at reasonable prices. Two days are sufficient to explore the town and the surrounding area.

It was a wonderful holiday.

It was a wonderful holiday. My husband was able to enjoy some lovely bike rides. Due to a knee injury, I had to stay in the holiday apartment a lot, but I felt very comfortable there. Mr. Hertwig was very friendly and gave us many great tips for things to do. We will definitely recommend it to our friends. Sincerely, the Moroff family.

Zell is a perfect area for long hikes through the Black...

Zell is a perfect area for long hikes through the Black Forest's low mountain ranges. And the Black Forest in general is also relatively close to home. Luckily, we had wonderful weather, and you really don't need to go to Austria, Italy, or Spain for that.

There was a factory next to the hotel, in the evening it smelled of animal feces, the rooms were not soundproof and you could hear everything, the sewage was constantly heard in the room, the steam room was not working constantly, otherwise the restaurant was ok and it was a nice village

The sauna area is really spacious, as it should be for a hotel of this size. Unfortunately, most hotels seem to think one sauna is sufficient for 6-8 people. Here, there's plenty of room in several saunas – fantastic! Unfortunately, the menu is very limited, so it's only suitable for a 2-3 day short break.

It's a great base for exploring the Black Forest and Alsace...

It's a great base for exploring the Black Forest and Alsace regions. The village is charming and has all the amenities; the village pool is fantastic, with slides and diving boards. It's easy to get around between villages using bike paths and walking/running trails. On a future visit, we'd definitely stay a couple more nights.

Fine looking hotel in centre of lovely village yet very quiet with no through traffic. Parking immediately outside.hotel. Easy to find with a very nice restaurant with excellent food and drinks menu. Very comfortable.
