Excellent attention! We had a medical situation with the altitude and the hotel stuff immediately called an ambulance that helped us a lot as part of their included services. Food, cleanliness, and friendliness was top and we will definitely be coming back if we have the chance.

The room was very nice, very clean and with everything I needed. The food from the restaurant is very tasty. They have a SPA and I did a massage very relaxing (thank you Vanessa!), the best ever. The staff is nice and welcoming.

We had a lovely room and lashes if hot water which after days at hotels where caliente meant lukewarm was absolutely brilliant. The hotel is far away from anything that would cause too much noise so we had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was OK. The parking worked fine.

This was one of the most interesting experiences I've had with a booking.com stay. It's an indigenous community that has a small lodging for tourists. It was comfortable and sufficient in terms of the accommodations. The indigenous ladies are always walking around and love to chat with you. They speak Quichua and some speak Spanish. We were able to chat for a long time with a big group of them and learn about their culture, way of life and families. We hiked up to a hillside with one woman who showed us her cows and different crops. They cooked us their homemade meals and made us feel really welcome. It was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend. One sweet old grandma always had a little puppy following her around. It was so adorable. When we planned to leave at 4 am, one of the ladies organized a taxi for us. We didn't have enough cash left, so the woman's husband lent us some bills in exchange for a bank transfer super late at night. They continuously went out of their way to help us and show kindness. I will never forget it.

    I had a guide for hikes around Chimborazo. I was coming from sea level, so I was limited to less than 4000m for the first couple of days (and some people experience altitude symptoms at less than that). If I had stayed longer I could have done a couple interesting hikes on Chimborazo itself - I was fine after two days here.

    Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt.

    Come to Riobamba if you want to climb/bike on Mt. Chimborazo and/or visit the markets on Saturday. The downtown is interesting, worth a few hours, but does not cater to tourists. It is a city for Ecuadorians living their lives. The markets on Saturday are amazing. They are some of the most authentic, local markets we've visited. Very little for tourists, just real stuff for real Ecuadorians. If you are interested in climbing the mountain plan on time to get use to the altitude. Riobamba is a good base camp for a few days to begin this process.

    I only wanted a bed for the night to break up a long bus...

    I only wanted a bed for the night to break up a long bus trip, so didn't get to see much of the town at all. I'd like to have explored the architecture, and of course the mountains around the town are very impressive.

    I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba.

    I enjoyed my stay in Riobamba. Closed train station was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!! Visiting local cemetery was really something! I am writing this comment on my laptop and photos are on my phone but if you want to know more about Riobamba check my channel (Rootsless) on You Tube. Don't forget to like my channel. Thank you.

    Riobamba is a good stepping off place to visit other small...

    Riobamba is a good stepping off place to visit other small towns in the region. Sadly, all the churches were closed when I was there during the week I visited. This was disappointing. The city is very walkable and should you need a taxi or bus they are everywhere.

    Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy.

    Riobamba is an attractive city that did not seem touristy. We were very comfortable walking about downtown. The empanadas we had from a local restaurant were excellent and very inexpensive. Transportation was very easy, as taxis are everywhere and very cheap. I wouldn’t spend a week here, but we enjoyed it for a day or two, and it makes a great base for day trips in the High Sierra.

    We had a great time at Villa Bonita. Vanessa is very friendly and helpful, she was happy to give us tips on things to do around, and helped us booked our tour. Good location, short drive to the bus terminal. The place is beautiful, kept super clean, and the beds are very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of showers with hot water, and nice patio to meet other people. Fast wifi in both the rooms and common areas. Breakfast is included in the price, very nice. Definitely recommend if staying in Riobamba.

    safe place in Riobamba, Cecilia and her husband are great hosts. we had great conversations about art and Ecuador. Cecilia gave us some insider tips for places to visit and where to eat around Riobamba . excellent breakfast included in the price and we could use the kitchen to prepare our dinner as well. big parking spot for those who travel by car. hot water in the shower and good wifi. adorable two dogs (that stay outside the hostel) . we felt like at home and recommend the place 100%.

    Outstanding hotel in the centre of Riobamba. Beautifully designed with excellent facilities. Santiago our host was so good and help organise our laundry, day trips and some amazing meals.
