Wow, what a find! The photos in the description don't do the place justice – it's a great, cozy little house with a lot of attention to detail. It really is a home, located in a beautiful countryside, very peaceful and quiet. And we were fortunate to spend a night there. The owner is amazing – friendly, helpful, hospitable, willing to share his knowledge of the local region. And it was great to be able to simply speak English, without attempting to communicate in Spanish via Google translate, as we had to do in most other stops along our way :) The breakfast was very nice with traditional spanish toasts, crushed tomatoes and olive oil, as well as some cereal, muesloi, cheese & ham, muffins etc. And the breakfast room is beautiful, just like the rest of the house! Our only regret is that we could stay here for only one night.

The village is hilly so be aware there are steps and steep...

The village is hilly so be aware there are steps and steep pathways. Ideal for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and people who love the Andalusian scenery and history. We visited the Olive Oil Museum, and purchased a selection of oils. There are various castles steeped in history which we visited too. We had a delicious breakfast so as tapas is served with drinks during the day we found no need to buy a meal. However, in the evening we ate at Los Cubanas, large portions, good food. The Bodega did not warrant a visit again as the lamb chops were too salty, and the breaded chicken like boot leather. The best place to eat is Sabores an Andalusia. This restaurant provides a very high standard of foods, and a delightful outside park area to enjoy your meal.

I wanted to add to my other review that Davinia and Raul were amazing, wonderful hosts. They very much enhanced our visit with good ideas and knowledge of the area. We also received knowledge about the foods which were served and a quick course in all things olive oil. It was so great. We would visit every year if possible. Thank you to our wonderful hosts. We wish them all the best.

They take care of every detail; it's a new experience that lets you enjoy the stars, nature, and the relaxation of the jacuzzi with maximum privacy. A special mention goes to the breakfast they left at our door, with high-quality products and a great variety. Thank you!

It's a place with many hiking trails to enjoy year-round. We visited for the 18th edition of Festum, which takes place every August and recreates experiences from ancient Rome, culminating in a gourmet dinner at the Roman Colosseum. We ate at Los Cabañas restaurant both days; it offered excellent value for money.

A charming little village with good restaurants (Los Cabanas, La Bodega, etc.), lovely places to discover (Roman ruins in a very interesting museum, a waterfall that could benefit from better presentation). There are shops for basic necessities and a market once a week.

It's a great town, it has several hiking trails, it's cool at night so you sleep very well even if it's a hot day, for lunch we went to the cabins, and we also visited Cordoba which is just over an hour away.

Wonderful! La Era is a unique and lovely place to stay in Almedinilla, Spain. Perfect for getting away from it all, hiking and exploring the hill towns nearby. Raul is an impeccable host. He was very helpful in planning our stay and responsive to any needs. We had a lovely breakfast each morning and a delicious dinner at the hotel on the last night of our stay (by prior arrangement). I highly recommend La Era if you are looking to experience the Andalusia region

The hotel was so good that I canceled the whole day plan and just stayed there. Really beautiful place with plenty of places to enjoy. Everything is organic at hospederia la era and the owners are so kind and supportive. You shouldn’t miss the breakfast, carefully cooked at home or bought from nearby artisans they work with. If you’re visiting Cordoba, or Granada, this is the place to give you a refreshing day-off away from the bustling cities.

Marc was a fabulous welcoming host who offered many ideas to see the best of the province. We needed the break, and the gorgeous view from the deck was the place to chat and relax. A 200 year old restored cottage with many quirky features in the village of Las Rios near the larger town of Almedinilla . Generous with breakfast, coffees, and conversation. Good room sizes with a strong shower and wifi.
