Everything! The design and decor was luxurious, yet, comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful. The staff could not do enough for you and made you feel extremely welcome. The location was equally perfect, with only a short walk to all the major attractions. All in all a perfect place to stay, can't fault it.

My wife and I stayed for one night at the NH Gran on our way from Spain to Portugal and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was of a very generous size and was well fitted out. The cleanliness of this hotel was exceptional. It smelt and was clean. Staff were very friendly with reception staff a standout in taking a little time to explain the sights of the city and to mark a few things on a map for us. It was very much appreciated. Lovely stay and recommneded.

The hotel is very, very wonderful and the hotel's location is special because it is in the city center The rooms are very nice and big and the bathroom is also very clean and big. Also the staff are distinguished, respectful and have very high taste The staff's treatment was very special, they were always smiling and treated me with politeness, respect and appreciation. The breakfast was very good. The hotel prices were excellent and very cheap, knowing that the hotel deserves more than what I paid for the stay, but their prices were very I did not expect to find such cheap prices in the hotel because the hotel is more than excellent and wonderful and everything in the hotel is first class Indeed, the hotel and everything in the hotel is wonderful and distinctive and deserves to be amazed because the services, treatment, food and comfort are first class. The hotel is worth visiting and staying in. The city of Badajoz is very beautiful and has stunning natural scenery. Thanks to the hotel management for their high-class treatment and warm welcome. ❤️🇪🇸🌹

We weren't really lucky with the weather, which certainly influenced our assessment. It was cloudy and raining, which meant that, the city itself didn't seem particularly attractive, apart from some beautiful old buildings and monuments. The museum of modern art, on the other hand, was a highlight for us. It was, in fact, our main reason for visiting this city, and it was definitely worth it. We also found a few nice places to have a drink and a meal, such as "Luzia" and "Espanta perros", a nice little café with good music and friendly staff.

We did not have much time in the town but we spent a few...

We did not have much time in the town but we spent a few hours and it seemed to be a great town. The town is very very clean, well looked after and we felt safe walking around the town. The squares are beautiful, the plants, flowers are gorgeous!! We ate a great meal at kebab closer to the hotel Sercotel Grand Hotel. We had delicious ice cream at Heladeria ‘Augustin Mira’… loved it. The hotel is really worth staying. Beds are comfortable and the place spotless! The breakfast is the best so far. Lots of options and variety of fruits, juices, cold meats, breads and there was butter croissants and chocolate croissants. Different options of cakes, including cupcakes and the coffee, the best!!

We were only there for 1 day and night.

We were only there for 1 day and night. We enjoyed being close to the river and walking paths as we are borders. We walked to the citadel/ castle and enjoyed the history. Being there on a Monday we did have a challenge finding anywhere to eat as most of the restaurants are closed

Probably a city which doesn't get many tourists, but...

Probably a city which doesn't get many tourists, but certainly deserves more. To be honest, until planning our interrail trip, I had never heard of the place, but it was necessary to stay there to get across the border next day. Plaza Alta, high up in the town as the name would perhaps suggest, was jumping, and everyone was eating outside.

Badajoz seems to me to be a very under appreciated city very...

Badajoz seems to me to be a very under appreciated city very much in the shadow of its Extremaduran neighbours Merida and Caceres, yet it is as steeped in history as both of these two more popular tourist destinations. Culturally it has so much to offer: two excellent art galleries, Museo de Bellas Artes and MEIAC which have very contrasting collections of mainly local art; The Moorish Alcazaba, with sweeping views of the city from its imposing, extensive walls and within these walls the Archaeological Museum and gardens; Nightlife in the old town is particularly lively with excellent tapas; There are numerous cultural events throughout the year including a yearly festival of Flamenco and Fado plus a Jazz Festival. Behind the slightly run down facade the city presents lies a wealth of experiences.

Many people say Badjoz is modern and ugly with not much to see. There are lots of historical sites like the town walls, gates and castles plus the many gardens situated in parks. The Alta Square was great with three good cafe/restaurants. If you have a hire car visit nearby Elvas in Portugal.

Great one night stay passing through on our drive through Spain to Santander. Excellent breakfast options, super comfy and quiet room with balcony with views over the golf course and wonderful staff! We loved our stay. Also appreciated the cans of water and minimal plastic and the efforts made by this hotel to be as sustainable as possible.

The hotel is in a very good location, next to the river and close to the old city center and other major attractions. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the room was clean and big enough. Also clean bathroom and quite spacious, well organized. The breakfast was very good with many choices for cold and hot foods.

Good beds, nice rooms and a good location but for a 5 star hotel it should be cleaner. The toilet had some dirty spots and the sink also wasn't very clean.
