    What a fabulous venue.

    What a fabulous venue. The beach is clean & a few degrees warmer when sat by the wall. The shops, bars and restaurants were friendly & affordable, selling quality food & snacks. There are mountain walks nearby & it is very dog friendly. There are lots of playgrounds for young children & the children are made to feel welcome in the bars & restaurants. The buses into nearby resorts run every 10-15 minutes.

    Beautiful bay , very Spanish , the quality restaurants are mostly catering for Spanish but there are a couple of British bars and a Chinese , a Mexican and an Italian. Very different to Benidorm that’s just a short bus ride away (€1.60). The beach is clean and sandy and the Sea is clean and shallow. Perfect place for families. Couple of supermarkets - one in the centre and one 5 mins up the hill. Strangely there were no sunbeds or umbrellas in May but when we went last October there were ? We walked over the hill , 10 mins to the next nearest beach where there were sunbeds and 2 little bars - 2 sunbeds and a Brolly €18, they take card payments You don’t need to speak Spanish in this little area, but it certainly helps

    When I was a bit younger I preferred my accommodation to be near the strip in Benidorm. However nowadays I actually prefer to be based in Cala Finestrat for it's quietness and laid back atmosphere. I still had the option of a 15 minute bus ride to the strip whenever I wanted it.

    Unfortunately it rained for my 3 day trip.

    Unfortunately it rained for my 3 day trip. So missed the Tuesday market. But there is a great covered in shopping centre a short bus ride away. A great choice of restaurants. Close enough to Benidorm for a visit. But much quieter.

    We have visited Cala de Finestrat often over the years.

    We have visited Cala de Finestrat often over the years. It has a lovely beach and is good for swimming. It is a small but vibrant bay and is within walking distance of Benidorm’s large Poniente beach.

    Everything about Finestrat is good from the bars and...

    Everything about Finestrat is good from the bars and restaurants to the beautiful beach and friendly locals and ex pats.Buses to Benidorm cheap and frequent. Lots of choice ion Finestrat for dining ranging from Indian Chinese Italien and traditional Spanish.
