Can Sura was perfect for our stay. Quiet location but close to a couple of restaurants, and a short drive to the nearest town. Easy access to the coast further away, and only about 40 minutes to Girona. Judit was so welcoming and helpful, offering suggestions of where to visit and eat, and when to look out for shooting stars! Judit's welcoming nature makes this place special. The breakfast she provided on our first morning was amazing, our daughters loved the fresh orange juice & eggs from the chickens on site. The space was perfectly relaxing and well equipped for what we needed, either for a day by the pool or for coming back to after a busy day out. The road to Can Sura does turn into a gravel track but this just means there is no passing traffic, adding to the peaceful environment.

The first surprise on arriving is that you walk into a fine Catalan bar, which acts as the forecourt of the hotel. The friendly staff made us feel really welcome, explaining the idiosyncrasies of the place (the bar closes on Tuesdays, for example). We were fully informed of how to access the hotel part of the building after the bar closes and shown to our room. The hotel is well situated for rambling around the well signposted local walks (which all start from the square in which the hotel is located). It is also an ideal base for exploring the entire Montseny area. The trails here are varied and generally spectacular. We ate a couple of times at the bar, because there were some fine vegetarian options for me and meaty goodness for my partner. They also had some very nice beers too. If I return to that area I have no doubt where I will be staying.

A small and pleasant hotel, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I stayed there after a meditation retreat and mainly needed peace and quiet, which the hotel provided perfectly. The staff were very friendly and kind, and the breakfast was tasty. There’s a park and good restaurants nearby. I think I’ll come back again. I fell in love with Santa Maria de Palautordera :)

We spent the weekend at this beautiful house in Montseny and it was honestly one of the best getaway experiences we’ve had. It’s only about an hour and a half outside Barcelona, yet it feels like you’re completely in nature, away from everything. The property itself is absolutely stunning — even better than the photos, and that’s not something you often say. You can feel how much love and attention has gone into the house. Every corner has a thoughtful touch, from the décor to the layout to the cozy details. When we arrived, the entire house was decorated for Christmas, which immediately made it feel warm, festive and special. You can tell the owners genuinely care about the experience of their guests. We were four adults and had more than enough space both inside and outside. The common areas are spacious and comfortable, perfect for hanging out together, and there are multiple areas where you can relax, read, sit by the fire, or enjoy the view. The amenities are a huge highlight — the pool area, the outdoor jacuzzi, the beautiful terrace overlooking nature, and the indoor fireplace which made our winter stay extra cozy. Every space felt intentional and designed for enjoyment. Honestly, there is nothing negative to mention. The pictures don’t fully capture how beautiful this place truly is. It’s one of those rare properties where you arrive and immediately feel like you’ve discovered something special. A true gem — highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back.

We spent two weeks at Jose's place for a work assignment in Santa Maria de Palautordera. My colleagues were very happy with the conditions offered, the accommodation is spacious and well equipped. Good breakfast as well. We made a new reservation with the same host. Great communication with the host and a very clean and tidy place influenced our decision.
