Had a very pleasant surprise when we checked in and received an upgrade to a sea view suite on the 5th floor. Lovely large suite with superb views over the bay and beaches. Very clear instructions were provided to drive to the hotel through old town as GPS will take you the wrong way. Staff were very helpful and the hotel is in a great location in old town near the marina.

Amazing Coastline and Historical Beauty

San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.

Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.

Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.

The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and offers spectacular views over the bay and city. Situated at the bottom of it, Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.

Really liked the vibes in San sebastien, I would love to go back. The beach at La Concha is so nice. The only two problems with the area Bilbao-San Sebastien is there is a distinct lack of vegetarian/vegan food and driving on the roads is scary!

We loved the food and walkability of San Sebastian. It is a beautiful city with great restaurants, bars, shops, interesting sights, beautiful beaches, interesting sculptures, and lots of things to do. We recommend the log ride at the amusement park at the top of the cliff overlooking the water.

Its reputation for food and top restaurants has made San Sebastián a little over confident. The city itself is beautiful with its beautiful horse shoe bay and island, also lovely long promenade and three beaches. Hotels are extremely expensive and not great value for money. This is a pity for such a beautiful place.

We ( my wife and me) love Natural wine and we found this...

We ( my wife and me) love Natural wine and we found this little wine shop (PIRIPI) very close to Zurriola Beach and the Zurriola Bridge ( Usandizaga Kalea) the owners Alaia and Panos recommended us very good wines and give us some tips about Donosti , places that you don’t go if a local dont recommend it. SanSebastian is the most beautiful city that I know.

Although a city, we found it very pleasant to wander around enjoying the views, bars and restaurants and everywhere appeared very clean. The view from Monte Igeldo is stunning and worth having to pay 2.5 Euros to access. As well as the old town there is a multi level shopping centre which is worth visiting just to see the fish counters. Prices for food and drink are higher along the Boulevard but that is probably to be expected. We tried a number of places to eat, Pepe Taberna which is not far from the Funicular was good value, and we enjoyed the Pinchos in Ormazabal. Getting around was easy with plenty of busses which run from the Boulevard.

One of our favorite cities in Spain.

One of our favorite cities in Spain. The beautiful old town with its variety of shops, bars, and restaurants; the wonderful Playa de la Concha; the amazing views from Monte Igueldo and Monte Urgull; its proximity to quaint little towns like Hondarribia and Hendaye (that you shouldn't miss). And its slow pace that helps you relax and enjoy nature at its best.

This was the last stop on our 3 week trip around Northern Spain and it was the best hotel we stayed in. The room (we had a corner room, well worth the extra cost) was excellent. The air con worked a treat and there was no noise at all at night. We were with in walking distance of both beaches and the old town as well as the excellent range of restaurants and bars. There was also a supermarket nearby. The staff were friendly, approachable and professional. A fabulous stay!

The hotel’s location was great. Right next to the old town and the shopping area. This made the whole city accesdibke by foot including long walks on the beach! We has a duplex room and very spacious. Facing the Gizpuoka garden. The bed was very comfortable though I’d have liked it a bit firmer. The room appeared very new and cleanliness was beyond reproach! Great value for money.

Clean rooms with everything you need. Comfy bed & really relaxing being on the balcony after a day out. Although not in the old town we enjoyed walking through the gardens & along the beach from the hotel to the old town, got to see more of the area. Nice bakery on the corner too & pinchos from hotel bar.
