We were only there for a couple of days and had minimal...
We were only there for a couple of days and had minimal expectations as the purpose of my stay was not a holiday. However, Ecija had plenty of amenities, a shopping centre with plenty of variety and plenty of free parking. It appears to be a typical Spanish town with heavy roman influence in terms of architecture, statues, with some preserved 'ruins' in the main square. I wasn't there long enough to give a thorough review as I was not there as a tourist and was not there for long. But the experience was much more pleasant than expected and I have nothing negative to say about the placeGuest review bySeanSpain - 10.0
Écija is a beautiful small city at short distance of Seville...
Écija is a beautiful small city at short distance of Seville and Cordoba. The historic centre is amazing, a true hidden gem and certainly worth a visit. Next time we will choose Écija as "home base" while most historic sights in Andalusia are just a short car drive away and the city itself has preserved very much its autenticity whereas other cities are flooded by tourists. The staff are very helpful and our room very comfortable and clean...the hotel is just off the Plaza de Espania which is right in the centre of the old town...parking is available at the Plaza de Espania underground car park, which cost €11.50 for 24 hours...the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the car park. There are lots of restaurants and cafes within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel offering really good food at a reasonable price. We also had a great meal at the hostal, which was very busy and popular. We were on a motorbike and could safely and securely park immediately outside (the petrol station is manned 24 hours a day).
