FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

The people were very kind, pleasant and warm.

The people were very kind, pleasant and warm. The streets are clean despite the large number of citizens and tourists. Every street has a tree line. I really like that the Spanish invest a lot in their parks and greenery in general. Prices in grocery stores and restaurants are quite ok. Nowhere did we have the impression that someone had ripped us off.

We loved Madrid.

We loved Madrid. We were quite impressed with the efficiency of the Metro System. The city has a vibrant night life and people are very friendly. The only negative that we can say about Madrid is that there seems to be a large number of cigarette smokers. It felt like the US prior to the 1980's. The nasty smell of cigarette smoke seemed to be everywhere.

Madrid is a vibrant city with something for everyone.

Madrid is a vibrant city with something for everyone. Great shopping opportunities, beautiful countryside (I took an all day excursion visiting Segovia, Avila and Toledo). Madrid city is easily accessible by foot, bus, metro and taxi. There are many food options including a plethora of neighborhood tapas and bars. Be sure to visit the San Miguel Market. Depending on the time of year of your visit it can get cold and rainy so be certain to check the weather before leaving home so you will know how to pack. I only had 1 1/2 days to visit so I missed many of the well known tourist attractions. Madrid is definitely on my list of places to visit again.

We know it very well.

We know it very well. First time it blows you away with architecture, nice little bars, tapas etc. The Metro is not really our favourite. We prefer the buses. Traffic seems very fast compared to other places, but good crossings. Just wander around, it feels a very safe city compared to others of 3.4 million or similar. Manchester UK is also very safe as a comparison.

Madrid is a city with so much history, culture and beautiful architecture and museums . The Spanish people are so welcoming and always make you feel at home specially when you remember to greet them in Spanish "HOLA" buenos dias o buenas tardes . Their gastronomy is like non othe. Home to the oldest restaurant in the world Restaurante Botin .

Madrid is large so consider what you want to do and select your base carefully. There is lots to see and do, especially the galleries, but plan ahead and book admission tickets. Don't visit in summer, go spring or autumn, keep an open mind we found things that we didn't know existed whilst walking around.

The hotel is located just next to the Chamartín train station which is very convenient for me as I made quite a few day trips to small cities / towns north of Madrid. It is far from Madrid city centre but it’s quite easy to take the metro too, so for me it’s not a problem. It has a great outdoor pool despite the water being a bit chilly. The breakfast was fantastic with a lot of varieties, both cold and warm items. The hotel is of very good value for money indeed if you don’t need to live in city centre.

Perfect hotel for what we needed. Travelled over to the soccer stadium with my son. Only in Madrid for the night but managed to do lots of site seeing. This is located down a side street just off the city centre. So you are in a quiet location but also in the city. Would definitely stay here again. Very clean and had everything we needed. Thanks again for a great stay.

The hotel is in a good location, it is quite fancy, has an amazing roof top bar and a small pool which is quite rare in city centre Madrid. It is very clean and staff are very efficient. They also give water in rooms, and room has a fridge

The location was great, right in the city centre of Madrid. The hotel decoration and ambience of the rooms inspired in the theatre is very nice.
