The reviews I read before booking were misleading. There were no staff and we didn’t get any breakfast
When we arrived we couldn’t get in, there was no one there and the place was in darkness. After driving a long way and it was getting late this was very distressing. We eventually found a tel no and we’re let in. The room was as expected but it was difficult to sleep as we could hear other guests who arrived later, clomping about, snoring etc. We left at 9am, still no one around so no breakfast. I wasn’t sure if we were meant to make it ourselves but I couldn’t find a kettle or cups etc. It ruined the last day of our holiday.

Family run and extremely dog friendly. We stay there twice a year on our way to the ferry at Santander and always receive a warm welcome. The restaurant opposite us also run by the family and the food is excellent. On the evenings that the restaurant isn’t open, dinner is provided in the hotel.
The village goes back to Medieval times and is worth a visit in its own right.

I already knew and liked this hotel as a stop-off before getting the Santander ferry. I'd forgotten the lovely small touches though- kettles on the stairwell, extremely cute decor, general friendliness.

Last minute booking, staff were great nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant accross the road (part of the hotel) servered superb local food & wine at bargin prices. Easy to park outside the door.
