In Quintanar, the Cuyacabras necropolis is a fascinating place to visit. Playa Pita beach (Embalse de la Cuerda del Pozo), just 20 minutes away, offers a pleasant and clean beach. Exploring the mountains between Logroño and Quintanar is a delight (Islallana is a must-see). The proximity to Burgos (and its majestic cathedral) is an added bonus.

It is an incredible place that allows you to do many activities. Excursion to the source of the Arlanza River, where you can spend a cool afternoon, as a couple or family, visit the Cuyacabras necropolis or different routes through the area. It should be noted that the nobles of the area are a true discovery full of charm.

It's a quiet village in the Pinares region of Burgos.

It's a quiet village in the Pinares region of Burgos. The food is good, and there are many mountain trails to explore. The Hostal Domingo offers a very family-friendly atmosphere. The Jose M de Pedro bakery probably makes the best bread in the world. About 7 km away are the municipal swimming pools of Palacios de la Sierra, which are set in a spectacular location. Highly recommended.

A peaceful village with everything you need to enjoy its...

A peaceful village with everything you need to enjoy its landscapes (the Cuyacabras Necropolis, the Neila glacial lakes), hiking trails, and cuisine. It's also an ideal base for visiting other nearby natural areas such as the Río Lobos Canyon or Laguna Negra. Mushroom foraging routes are also available.

The most beautiful spot is the source of the Arlanza River...

The most beautiful spot is the source of the Arlanza River and the surrounding recreational area; it's simply spectacular and very accessible. The mountain range in general, the Neila lagoons, the nearby necropolis (I think it's Castrobayo), and the surrounding landscape... all highly recommended for nature tourism.

It's a slightly strange arrangement as the hotel is about 1km out of town, with the other part of it's business - bar casa Ramón - in the centre. Nice room, spotlessly clean, good shower, good breakfast and helpful staff. The bar in town is great, serving tapas and pinchos all day, again with friendly, helpful staff. The area is stunning, with forests and mountains as far as one can see.

We had a very pleasant stay. We loved the hotel’s interior, style, and charming old-time feel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We had a spacious 4-bedroom. Everything was good. It's very good that there is free parking on the hotel premises. We didn't have breakfast, but the dinner was delicious.
