The hotel is a basque traditional structure worth to visit not onfly for the large rooms and the exceptional and abundant breskfasts but overall for the kindness of mrs Maria, the madame who has been running the hotel for the last 52 years and is now helped by her son and doughter. We just had the most wonderful stay at Baiolei! Ana, the hostess, welcomed us so charmingly we felt at home here right away. She provided us with great tipps for our day trips. The rooms were very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The shared kitchen was equipped very well so you could make yourself nice homemade dinners. The free coffee and tea was another great extra. All in all, it was a great stay and we can really recommend it!

The rooms and overall design of this small 20-room hotel are simply outstanding. Every detail feels thought-through, perfectly executed, and the ambiance is both luxurious and warm. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, making our stay feel truly special. And the breakfast? Easily one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated 3-Michelin-star restaurant was a letdown. While the staff were lovely and the menu looked very promising, the execution didn’t quite match our expectations. Many dishes, although visually impressive and using modern techniques, lacked depth of flavor. As frequent visitors to Michelin-starred restaurants, this experience felt surprisingly average. It’s hard to say this because the team was clearly trying their best — but this is of course a subjective opinion.
