I wanted to visit Soria because of the nearby archeological site of Numancia. I had read El Cerco de Numancia by Cervantes as a student and remembered the site. The Museo Numantino in Soria has fascinating artifacts from the archeological site and other locations in the area. Wonderful Roman glass, pottery, jewelry and sculptures. We were only in Soria for a day and a night .
We were only in Soria for a day and a night . It is plagued with one way systems and lack of parking so not easy to negotiate. Staying at the Paradore also meant a steep walk to and from the hotel . Soria was a fantastic place to visit.
Soria was a fantastic place to visit. I was privileged to stay with local people for a lot of my stay so I was spoilt with information on where to go. Soria town is beautiful with lots to see and do. A lot to see but you need to walk, the town is quite extended. See the excellent botanical gardens, a good walk. Great patisserie Yorks near entrance of gardens. The Little Train ride takes you all round the town and down to the river, with fantastic view of church on cliff, very good and saves a steep street ramble. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was OK. We only stayed one night as we were driving along the Duero river valley from Porto - next stop Burgos - so not a lot to say.
