It was just great, lovely old building, very well appointed and charmingly helpful staff. Often used as a wedding venue but we were there midweek, so it was quiet. Room was fab, lovely countryside view, spacious. We had dinner, which was just excellent, the biggest melt-in-your-mouth steak you can imagine, top quality nosh. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.

Charming hotel with a unique environment and privacy. It’s located within a restored abbey from the XII century with only 30 rooms and a lot of privacy. Personnel is looking after you from minute 1 and are extremely polite. Finally, we have been doing wine tasting around the world for years and this has been the best experience by far. We will be back!!

A small boutique hotel in the middle of the wine area close to at least 11 bodegas/chateau in the neighbourhood. Beautiful location along the Douro river with excellent parking facilities. The kitchen is outstanding. very impressed by the dishes, their taste and quality and the very knowledgeable waiter .

    We stayed at Valoria to break up a drive from central...

    We stayed at Valoria to break up a drive from central Portugal to the Santander ferry. As a one night stopover it was a very good location but as such some of the questions in this survey were not relevant. The little town seemed pleasant but as it was the end of September starting to slow down. Parts of the hotel dated back to the 11th Century and has been lovingly restored. We had an evening meal that was excelent and were expertly guided through the dishes and wine with entusiasm and honesty. Very enjoyable stay and we will come again if we do this journey again.
