Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!

Ivalo is not big, but it is strategically positioned between Rovaniemi and Inari. Amazing location to admire the northern lights and visit Inari. Nature is incredible and it looks less touristy than Rovaniemi.

Best place to view Northern lights.

Best place to view Northern lights. Unique Husky ride , and snow mobile tours. Winter sports like skiing , cross country , snow walking. Dreamy Winter Wonderland landscape ! Everything covered in snow is a picture perfect view . Stay in a Glass Igloo cabin to view Northern lights ( weather permitted) Renting a car is highly recommended , easy to get around even on an icy road . We used Alamo . Excellent car . Book all your tours in advance to avoid disappointment . Have fun and enjoy the cold . Be prepare to bring thermal clothing . Ivalo is a perfect Winter Wonderland Destination !

Ivalo is a quiet place for nature and sport lovers. A great place to take a rest from busy life and see SNOW in time of climate change. The shops in the centre offer everything you may need and even far in the forest your mobile will still get the signal.

We enjoyed watching the northern lights in the outskirts of the city ... Dont expect the colorful northern lights as you see it in the photos and videos in the Internet , mostly it will be in white color only... Ivalo Hotel club nord and northerlightsriders.fi arrange the best tours which we hired. They showed us the lights in the better places around Ivalo and inari... Apart from norther lights, snowmobile, skiing and other sports activities are available but we did not try those things.

For its location and hospitality, it stands out as one of the best places to truly experience Lapland. The classic sauna, the cabin nestled in the woods, the view of the frozen lake, and, with a bit of luck, the Northern Lights reflecting on its surface. Minna and her husband have done an excellent job of enhancing what is a truly unique and rare place. We're confident it will leave a wonderful memory for anyone who visits. We were happy that we found this spacious cottage for 10 people. All the necessary equipments were there, cottage was very clean, combination of sauna and swimming in the lake was amazing! The location was also convenient, just 5 mins drive from the Ivalo airport. The owner We are very much satisfied staying there and recommend this place to everyone!

Incredibly spacious for 2 people. Location is very convenient since it is right across S-Market, the biggest supermarket in Ivalo. The apartment feels very homey as well and has all the amenities that you would need.
