    Arès is certainly not the smartest town in Cap Ferret but it...

    Arès is certainly not the smartest town in Cap Ferret but it is the largest and has a good selection of restaurants and other services, including a large Leclerc on the outskirts. The more appealing parts of Cap Ferret are no more than 30m away by car and it is connected to the extensive cycle network that covers the whole area. It also seems to be the best place to sample the oysters which are a speciality of the Bassin d'Arcachon.

    Location and facilities within the property itself are excellent. Ares is a short walk and has all the local shops, restaurants and cafes you want in a French village. The Arcechon basin has some wonderful seafood restaurants, a whole pile of which were recomenmded by the hosts. Road links to larger towns like Bordeaus or St Emilion and good and easily accessible.

    The hotel is cozy and well served. The breakfast is very good and the hosts are always ready to give useful tips for touring the Bassin. We enjoyed taking a bath in the swimming pool every late afternoon after travelling around. You can go on foot to the sea and to the centre of Arés.

    Great apartment, with a very relaxing outdoor space. Parking included. Calm and peaceful. Arés is a very nice area to explore and sample oysters. Restaurant Le Pitey is excellent, a 20 minute walk towards Andernos Les Bains. Recommended for a short stay.
